yes. i use the 60 min bezel function a lot. i miss not having it on a watch.
Have you ever used the bezel to time something?
Despite loving the two I currently own my answer is no for both of them.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Use it a fair amount, nothing diving related mind! Mostly when I've put something on the hob or oven!
I sometimes rotate it when I'm bored does that count?
Just used it to warm up the sauna.

Used mine only yesterday, timing my free parking space in town.
Use it to time when is the next time this question props up
Yes, diving and cooking!
Use mine for cooking. That's it!
can i use the bezel to time stuff? great news!
Timed my walk to work to my new office on Monday :)
Used to use it as a ghetto GMT 10 years ago, so I could easily know the time in HK and call folk at sensible times.
I use it for cooking, brewing coffee and timing the dog's walks. One day I might even use it for diving!
I use mine every single day to time my lessons :-)
Yes. Cooking predominately. Used it to mark the start of an exam last week too, so I knew how long I had left.
I twist it and count the clicks, I need to get it correct three times in a row, or I start again. I am having real trouble with light switches at the moment as well.
Yes, oven times, street parking - clearly justifies the cost of a submariner......
Counting the clicks is about as much as I do too!
Is it 60 or 120? I also like a bezel that doesn't move inadvertently - Rolex seem best out of my collection.
Parking meters, stuff in the oven, and on the Boris bike to make sure I dock before I get charged over the half hour limit.
Don't know if I could manage a watch without one, unless it had a chronograph!
Does moving it to annoy OCD colleagues count?
Yeh just timing the potatoes I have boiling atm.
I also time breaks at work. Coz I have to...:-(
Coocking,
remembering a time or nummer,
5 minutes kids on the stairs and
laundry to name a few.
Miss the bezel when a watch does not have one!
Never ever - I only ever touch it to make sure it lines up at the 12 o'clock position.
I never time my life - only observe the passage of time
Here or there. Mostly to time trips home on the train (on the odd occasion I get it)
Of course:
- cooking, all sorts
- exercising - timing laps round the park
- commuting times
- how long it's been since I placed the on-line take away order
- timing meetings
- how long the ciders have been in the freezer :)
Using mine at the moment to time the Lasagne.
I often use my bezel pip as a marker to remind me of a meeting or other fixed time.
Yes I have found them to be a good back up to my dive computer when diving, and for timing stuff in the oven. I have found they ain't that good for timing running times a Casio G-Shock is much better, a Garmin even better.
I did move the bezel once after I accidentally knocked it and the pip went out of alignment with the 12. I had to click it 59 times to get it straight again.
Timing how long I have left when parking
Not for diving ...... I can't swim.
I use mine everyday for cooking like others have said. I use my chronographs for the same reasons and I'm a bit lost when I'm wearing a watch with neither. I really dislike having to use my phone for timing stuff. If I'm cooking I often have wet hands from doing dishes as I go so it's handy having the timer available at a glance.
Cooking mainly and also how long I've been at lunch as I rarely go at the same time each day
so in answer to the OP, that's a yes then?
Or are we all just trying to justify our ridiculous hobby?
;-p
Yes, most days. Brewing tea, cooking, general timing, counting laps during swimming. I much prefer a bezel to a chrono as the bezel is a damn site easier to read and mechanical chronos are not quick to read.
My wife pounced on my original PrS-3 and uses the bezel to time her piano lessons when teaching.
No, I just like the looks it brings to the watch.
I have gmt bezel and yes, I use it for timing in kitchen, parking meters etc.
I honestly think this is the main reason I prefer dive watches - I must use the bezel every day for something - mostly car parks (as they always seem to charge hourly) And cooking. I can always remember how many hours that have elapsed but need a start time to work from which the bezel easily provides. I also like decent lume and a legible dial, and something I can easily wash and keep clean without worrying about it leaking - often getting spattered with food at kids mealtimes etc.
I don't dive but I don't 'get' the concept of dress watches - I'm not dainty enough to worry about wearing the 'wrong' watch in any environment, and a diver seems like a default sensible choice!
I use mine to track time between checkpoints while supervising students completing DofE practise and qualification.
