My Zenith Daytona is back from RSC.

    And wow! She's looking magnificent.

They wouldn't refurbish the bracelet, so I ordered a new one. Then they said that they no longer have the 'correct' one available and would I like the newer solid end link version at the same price. Which incidentally, was £916, some £300 less than the cheapest one I could find online, potentially not even a real one!

I said that I would be happy to do that, as long as they sent the original bracelet back, and they have. So I plan to send that off to the chap on Hong Kong for a refurb, whilst having the pleasure of wearing an SEL bracelet with the watch, so no jingly jangly noise!

She is looking brand new! Stunning. And I'm sure the sub dials are more brown than they were when I dropped it off. Probably just my imagination.

I must really get a few tips from LTF about taking a decent photograph! I only noticed the WB was set to sunshine after the 1st take.

    Looks fantastic!!

Is that a new bezel or do they refurb it (looks new)

Stunning. I'd love one of these at some point and RSC always do an amazing job. It really is like getting a new watch back.

    Very nice indeed :)

Bracelet even sounded almost reasonable., compared to a new Sub or DSSD version.
It's just a matter of time...

To be honest, it would be hard for that watch to look anything less than magnificent whatever settings you had your camera on.

    Sure.

    Service - £416.67
    New glass - £100.54
    New bezel - £204.32
New pushers - £134.59 (didnt have these)
New (later SEL) bracelet - £916.67

    All plus VAT.

I actually thought the full service was very reasonable, I was expecting close to double that!

The old bezel was pretty knackered. I'd have loved to keep it all original, but I'm pleased I didn't as it now looks like a brand new watch. I'm actually scared to wear it!

Bracelet was eyewateringly expensive, even at their cracking price, but I figured that once the original one is refurbed, I could potentially sell the new one separately and get all the money back, if I ever decide to sell the watch.

It's currently in the "keeper" part of my collection.

    Thanks for that, quite interesting.
Do you know if a new crown is included in the service?
I actually thought a crystal, crown and pushers used to be included?

I don't think anything's included now. Crown was not suggested actually but o think they're about the same price or less than the glass.

Maybe this is why the service cost seems reasonable these days.

You're a very lucky man having a Zenith Daytona. I'm very envious!

I agree. Whilst it seems that these so called Patrizzi Daytonas are the new holy grail, I actually think they look a little odd when they've gone really dark brown. I saw one that was as dark as the 'original' Patrizzi and didn't like it that much. It looked faulty, which I suppose it is. The coloration wasn't uniform, it was patchy.

Hopefully mine will continue to darken over the years, but never go as far as the chocolate ones. That'd be great.

I own the white version (non Zenith) but still crave the black!!!

Was such a hard choice to make between them that I let my AD decide for me.

That looks really nice with a golden brown ring around sub dials, very distinctive vintage vibe.

is Rolex servicing cost of Zenith movement less expensive than the servicing of Rolex movement ?

Did the Zenith Daytona ever come with SEL on the bracelet ?

Which years of production did Rolex make the Zenith Daytona ?

    Zenith Daytonas

Most of them had tritium dials, only the early ones had brushed non SEL's with the rarer dials (porcelain, reverse sixes and floating etc.) . The last lot had non-tritium dial and SEL's

Is this a 16519 or 16520 with end links?
