Just bagged this for the old man

I've owned two IWC. An aquatimer and a ingenieur, both were decent but never clicked with them. However I bagged the old man this today and it's changed my mind on iwc! Classy and timeless.

Here's a old man wrist shot-

Bet it would look even better on his wrists. Best dials in the world and fair play to you.

Nice balanced, legible dial and classic looks. Is it a 42mm?

    I believe it is, yes.

Perfect size imo. Any bigger it would look silly.

Classic loveliness, so often copied, but never as good as the real deal.

    Daddel.

Nice I like that and open to be adopted as an old man. Hope my daughter will do something like that for me. Mind you she is only 16 so I guess it's a long wait. Well done.

Inclined to agree - with a thin bezel like that, 40-42mm is a good size - any bigger in that style and the dial size would look too exaggerated.

Lovely watch ... I have blue hands/white faced version...
BTW - IWC shows the diameter as 41mm. http://www.iwc.com/en/collection/portugieser/IW3714/
Thin bezel means it wears larger.

Agered, thin bezel or no bezel always wear larger due to larger dial size. A classic watch design.
