With all the chatter about the reissue, thought I'd give this an airing today.

Not relishing the thought of getting the train into town in 45 minutes.

Sorry for seeing this so late, it's an Ancon Challenger. One of a number of brands that sell bronze watches largely based on Panerai, that seemingly originate from Hong Kong. I love it!

Nice watch! Hope they are going to preserve this piece of WW2 history. I remember many huts there, including the German prisoners artwork on the walls. Here's my sunshine pic, taken in my caravan in Saundersfoot.

Nice one :-) It's such a lovely watch the 16234 and it made me a big fan of the DJ. I'm always on the look out for them recently.

Having Iived there briefly, I thought Bridgend itself was the prison camp......but that was 30 years ago so perhaps it has changed.

Thanks. Cheapish watch, very cheap strap, but match almost perfectly.

The fact that it doesn't require thousands of pounds to get something that looks superb gives my faith in this hobby a nice shot of hope.

    Thanks! :)

Yes, the hut has a preservation order on it now so is totally secured with fencing and has it's upkeep taken care of by donations and fundraising via open days and the such .. it's a great piece of local history with a fascinating story behind it ... we used to play down there as kids when it was all there during the early 80's ... a lot of the prisoner drawings from the demolished huts are now displayed in hut 9

Haha ..It's changed alright but not for the better sadly, it's a dying town ... such as many towns around the country.
