Wanted one for a long time, looked at various iterations and settled for that. Arrived yesterday after a loooong wait...

Shouldn't that be: "marry the woman I love?". Glad you've ticked another off your list. And not a bad choice of watch at that! P.S. Fixed those images for you.

    But
A rather shallow list of boxes to be ticked

    I think that actually says:

    'Jump out of a lane'

    followed by

    'Drive a fit car'

Thank you all. The pad was a little mise-en-scene. Don't read too much into it. Still..

The closest thing i drove to an f1 was an f3 and it was brutal! ;)

I married a beautiful woman (beautiful mind). Gorgeous looking too.

Bought and sold an F car is done too.

    Few marathons too in fact.

Well, the Patek thing.. Thought might give it a go. Rose gold a bit much for me but next to the 5712g (white gold), there was no contest, had to be the 'r'. Still getting used to it.

I like contrasts in fact. A simple bic vs a Patek. ;)
Perfection to my eyes. ;) ;)

I am a bit of a contrarian. I feel comfortable wearing it driving my old battered vespa px125, dressed in jeans and converse.

If i was driving a italian sports car for example, i'd wear a much more inderstated watch. A very basic swatch for example.

Funny, I was just (earlier today) noting on another thread that I dislike the SS 5712 and dislike rose gold - but somehow they work together to make a very attractive watch. [ http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...her-would-love ]

I still prefer (fortunately, money-wise) the 5711, but well done on the (partial, no doubt) bucket list!

And somewhere somebody is ticking off "buy a montegrappa chaos stallone" on their list of shizzle that will give my life meaning with that very pen and wearing a ten quid Casio.

Not improbable. Buying £30k watches then writing a pretentious bucket list and using a BIC is absurd.

Meh. Its just a bit of light hearted fun clearly, to introduce the watch. Makes a bit of a change to the usual bland "hey look at my watch" posts when people make a bit of an effort to be amusing.

    Hilarious mate ;)

Didn't tickle me to be honest.

Looks like a list written back in the 80's when it was all red braces and hair gel! Buying stuff, tick, doing pretend dangerous stuff before I have a family and realise it's a bit silly, tick. Hahahahaha

You should make it more obvious you're joking eric. Like put a smiley in the thread title or something. Otherwise some people might think you're serious...

You gotta do these things, for your own reason. While you only live once physically, in your mind and spirit you live many lives

Yes to both mate. I was having a gentle dig at those that took your post too seriously, not you.

Nice watches, but shallow list, if your life's great ticks are basically 'buy stuff' I feel sorry for you.

Some people might add "stop being envious"

i cant imagine anybody who posted this sort of list with a Speedy would have been given such gyp.

Clearly you need help with your list from the esteemed membership here, whether you want it or not. Here's my suggestion:

Learn how to spell the word 'beautiful'

That list, I think they would have. Besides which some of the ticks haven't happened by the OP's own admission.
So a shallow list, which isn't entirely truthful and the parts that are supposedly genuine are basically bragging / showing off.

I don't think it would matter on the watch content at all.

I think the OP is a lucky man. If he is, perhaps, bragging a little - well, wouldn't you wish to share your luck/achievement? And anyway, it causes harm to noone. At my relatively advanced age, I have come to regard that as the most important criterion!

  42. #42
Could have been done without the bragging though.

Would have been enough, with a picture of the PP, that's it.
The picture with a white gold Daytona (unless a SOTC) and the list is very much "look at me, I'm ace because I can buy expensive stuff"
    All really unnecessary

Well that's heck of a deduction there Sherlock.
Or should I say assumption? As you don't know my financial position or that of the OP.
All I said (and not particularly seriously) is that the list comes across as shallow, "ticking life's great boxes" is basically a shopping list.

You may think you have a handle on me, but you really haven't a clue, I won't justify my spending power or patterns to you, as I don't have to as I have nothing to prove. I also think it's vulgar, something you money obsessed colonials do not seem to understand as you're lead by the (not so) almighty dollar.

ChicagoPhil(istine), as the cowboy president used to say 'trust but verify' - a phrase he learned from Stalin (Доверяй, но проверяй); so whilst I am sure everyone here fully trusts your assertions regarding your rather comfortable pecunious situation, please post a scan of your latest bank statements so we may grasp the true level of your wealth.

Obviously none of his concern, as there isn't any monetary value to nice people, but there is to nice stuff, as the more nice stuff you have the better the person you are, well, according to the book of WindyCityPip

Please. The whole of this hobby is largely shallow materialism! And that is fine - we can't all be serious all the time, that would be awfully dull. Anybody who actually puts a watch on any sort of serious list of goals in life has gotta be either joking or a moron.
