    Beachy Head near Eastbourne

A decision has been made in the KurtKlaus household that we will go fossil hunting (girls are 4 and 7) during half term for a 2 days.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay for a a night in the area? Doesn't have to be £££, but a bit nicer than Premier Inn would be good.

Altogether we will be 3 adults and 3 kids, spread over 2-3 rooms.

Recommendations for a decent meal would be more than welcome too.

And no, 'MX-5' is not an acceptable answer in this case.

Wow, what an awesome idea! I might head south with my little girl for a day in halfterm - she'd LOVE that.

(sorry for no constructive advice and only idea theft)

Have a look at the Berkeley guest house, I stayed there for a night last year and it was excellent for the price.

    Beachy Head near Eastbourne

The premier inn in Eastbourne is brand new. It's only been open a couple of months so will be pretty good.

Being in the town centre means there's quite a few decent restaurants on the doorstep too and only s five minute drive to Beachy head.

When I've a bit if time this evening I'll weigh up some B&Bs for you.

Sorry a bit late to this, you could also try The Tiger Inn, great little pub that do lovely food and nice accommodation, well worth a try and 2 minute drive from Beachy Head ( one of my favourite places )

I second Paul's recommendation of the Tiger Inn, they also serve a decent pint if you find yourself in need of refreshment after a hard days fossil hunting.
