Lovely! One of my irrational dream car buys is an XK150S coupe. The XK120 is lovely as a roadster but I think the coupe (and the XK140 version) looks a little ungainly. The 150 coupe on the other hand looks just right. Maybe when I've grown up...

    Great drive.
I've not been up there for a couple of years:

Was up there last week watching Fred Whittle cyclists .... That's some feat. Know what I'd prefer to be my form of transport !!

I'm very lucky in that I get to go up to Eggremont every month or so. Wrynose and Hardknot isn't a bad delivery route. Don't usually see XKs though. Quite a few cyclists out today, one even overtook me on the decent:O

    Beaut !!

Coming down Hardknot my front brake calipers overheated and seized on (and I was really trying to be careful) Stopped, looked around for some water to cool them down (contemplated weeing on them ) but eventually slowly drove on with the brakes still binding until they cooled down sufficiently.

Lovely car and views! I did my first hill start there on my Police driving course. Liz and I are going for a few days to the Lakes next week so probably going over the Pass.

You should have a great time - it's just about to burst into colour.

I have family in Ulverston and I've cycled from there over to Hardnott pass and then over Wrynose pass to Ambleside and back down to Ulverston a few times. It's a canny pedal mind.

Brings back horrid memories of doing the C2C two years ago. Awful weather and not having the legs for it meant pushing the bike up the Hardknott was a total nightmare. Cycling down the other side in the chucking down rain was very scary.

Lovely car and beautiful area of the UK.

Great scenery. Just getting into cycling. Might be an option once I build some stamina
