Simon, you have sent me an email.
I have replied to your email three times now , asking you whether you will be using gift aid or not.
You need to reply to that email, answering the question.
When I get an answer I will be able to tell you where to go to donate.
    Thanks, Dave .
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

There's no hurry. People will stop donating when the draw has happened.

We are just waiting for confirmation of the last few donations.

In the meantime, new people can still join, but only before noon, and as long as they follow the instructions in post 105 and that I receive proof of their donation by 5pm this afternoon , otherwise their names will be removed from the list.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

  11. #311
Seeing as there are still around 8 pledges not yet received, I would let this run until you hit a minimum of 200 confirmed donations to hit that magic £10k rather than just close it to run the prize draw.

To be honest, for me the draw is a fun side issue and while it would be lovely to own that lovely Explorer, that isn't the main thing for me personally. The community spirt that has got behind this great charity idea is what I am enjoying and knowing that I have been involved in some small way to help.

I can wait for the draw but when it happens let's make sure someone is lucky enough to win the 10k Explorer!🏼

If you have any "no-shows" from the initial 200 at final cut-off time, I'll take another number (or the vacated spot) to make up for one of them.

I'm fairly certain all the remaining pledgers will come through , most of them are regulars on the forum. They have all been pm'ed and emailed so they know the situation. The only one I am really uncertain about at this time is proby24. An early subscriber, I still have not received an email from him and he last visited the forum on the 16th with no way of contacting him except by pm.

Thats a kind reassurance to have Matthew, thanks.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Don't get me wrong as I am not implying that they won't come through!

I was just thinking if time is starting to impact then just use the first 200 confirmed donations as a cut off!

  16. #316
Good I join too please - I've sent email.

There's no time pressure from me, I just think a few other members are getting restless. However, I think it is good to have a firm cut-off point so we can put this one to bed. Thanks Dave
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

  18. #318
I agree a firm cut off makes sense.

It is your event and decision. Just happy to be a part of it.

I'll take another slot to ensure that we go over the 200, if that's an option?

I'll also add a lovely Russian 24hr watch to the pool, if it's not too late?

Might we also have a gentleman's agreement that any watch bought on SC this week will come with a packing slip which reads

"Congratulations on winning this watch in the Nepal fundraiser raffle; not bad for a small donation to a worthy cause"

You're going to have to explain that to me in simple terms, I have no idea what you are saying.

I think he's saying we can all buy from SC and when SWMBO starts moaning about buying another watch, we can pull out the slip saying that we won it in the raffle for a small donation?

If you're struggling with a straggler, I'll take their place if it helps. I can pay this afternoon as I'm out most of today.

I mentioned the fundraiser to the missus a few days ago saying that the generous folk of TZ were raffling watches and related things in support of the people of Nepal.

She did that it was a worthy cause and I should buy a ticket, so I did.

If a lovely watch our whatever turns up in the next few days, she would celebrate by good fortune rather than get grumpy at my buying another watch.

It would be nice if all watches appeared to be raffle wins and maintained domestic harmony

I see. Fortunately I spend my own money on watches and stuff, not the wife's, so her approval is not required ;-)
