Could it be you've found Ben4watches grail watch. Imagine the irony if that was the one watch he didn't flip on a week.

Maybe we should club together, buy one and whoever's the reigning flipper has to have the watch and is not allowed to sell it. It would then be passed on if anyone dethrowns Ben or if he desides to adbicate. A sort of reality check to remind them about life before flipping. We could call it the flipping'eck award.

    Cheers,

    Gary

    Great idea :!:

It even has the "Olympic emblem" as a tribute to the hard hard work of The Flipper. - Not just anybody is entitled to that honor but the best of the best flippers. - It can also be seen as a symbol of the spirit of flipping: selling the same watches again, and again, and again...

Fantastic, we could host a flipper olympics. It's as if it was meant to be, not just some half assed idea born out of boredom and stupidity  .

Is the watch for sale Jussi and if so, for how much? I'll throw a fiver into the pot to get things rolling. Anyone else care to contribute? Remember it's not the flipping but the taking part that's important :D .

    Cheers,

    Gary

Yes. It is for sale at a Swedish auction site and some of the Borjes and Gunnars on this fora surely are registered there so they can take care of it. I say this should be a honorary prize that should go around from The Flipper to the other and we should have a montly vote every months first saturday who gets the honors of being the Flipper of the month. If he aint voted again his punishment is to ship it to the next honorary Flipper :D

It swould be accompanied by the Black Book of Flippers to which every honorary owner of the month (or months if voted again) should put the dates of custody with a mentioning of the watches flipped during that period and sealed with his signature....

OK gentlemen we've got 'till the 21 August to to find a Swedish forum member who can bid on our behalf and raise sufficient funds to buy this trophy watch.

I'll post for the Swedish contigent and contribute a fiver. Davie's going to 'chip in', whatever that means? Probably a few coppers and a pork scratching found down the back of his sofa   .

Any others willing to help fund this momentous horological er... thingymajig?

    Cheers,

    Gary

And Ben the idea is that you have to keep the watch and pass it on a month later . A foreign concept to you I know but just think of it as therapy. :D

I am in but only if there is a consensus that the community agrees on the rules (which of course, might be altered democratically - mine are just exsamplatory - is that an English word really). People - come forward and say you ja or ej :D

Sorry Davie, didn't even know you were Scottish 'till I saw your response.

OK for fear of being embarrassed by a Scot , I'll match Davies generous offer of a tenner. So that's £20 so far and Jussi's going to to donate a black book. Ben as you'll probably be the recipient of this award £10 towards the kitty's a bargain I'd say

    Cheers,

    Gary

    Cheers,

    Gary

    P.S. Where's this tenner then?

    Thanks Ted, much appreciated.

I think we'll try and find the maximum amount that we'll bid by adding up peoples contributions. If the watch comes to less than we raise we'll split the cost between contributors i.e. £60 for watch, 12 contributors = £5 each, or $10 in your case.

Does that seem fair and make sense to everyone?

    Cheers,

    Gary

OK the kitty now stands at £60, many thanks to all who've contributed. Anymore for anymore? £10 if you want to play, so the maths is easy for my addled brain if the watch costs less :)

I'm off for a couple of days, so if anyone would care to keep the momentum going (on this supremely daft idea) in my absence, I'd appreciate it. The kitty stands at £60 and Paul (gingerboy) has been in touch with Fredrik(SWE) who's going to bid on our behalf.

I'll be back on Sunday, see you then and have a great weekend all.

    Cheers,

    Gary :)

I'm in for a tenner (after getting a name check in the thread early on!)

    That makes £70, I guess?

    Cheers,

PS Heading off to watch box now with camera... ;)
