    That guy REALLY didn't expect it to smash did he?! It didn't do so well, but saying that, I'm not sure how well any watch would have done from that height with such a perpendicular drop on to such a hard surface. The laws of physics were against it.

    I launched one of my gshocks across a carpark by accident one day and it was fine, it was about £80

    and noooooo.. he really didn't expect it did he lol

    Oh you can't compare a G-Shock. They're full of extra resin surrounding the crystals etc. I have many and they do survive anything and everything.

    The sport model is supposedly hardier than the rest of the Apple range though, so I dread to think how an Edition would (not) have held up to the same test! Anyone got the cajones to try it?

    Well, it seems the device is keeping with Apple tradition, I had loads of colleagues break their "issued" ones and walk around with cracked glass till it was replaced. Not to mention some might interpret the elaborate, artsy cracks as .... patina?
