    Video: This is Grand Seiko

I searched for it, but nothing turned up, so hope it's not a repost.

Well I've not seen it before. I like the sound track!

Edit: They should have found a native speaker to edit their titles...read assembly for assembling.

And a question to any watchmakers. Is it usual to adjust a movement before putting into the case? Or, to put it another way, is a movement so rigid that assembling it into the case will not affect its rate?

Thanks! I enjoyed a lot its not-so-glamorous but rather industrial feel.

Yes, it is usual. Movements are for example certified by COSC before they are cased.

Thanks to the OP for the video.

That was fantastic, thanks for posting. Great to see the same model watch as mine being assembled!

A really absorbing video. Obvious demonstration of traditional watchmaking skills and techniques but with a refreshing embrace of how automated and efficient the production of modern watches is.

Excellent video. Love the juxtaposition of ultra modern technology with traditional artisanal skills.

It's nice to see a company not trying to romanticise what they do too much.

Rolex production videos for example look like James Cameron directed them.

It's great to see this insight into the process.

A GS is definitely on my wishlist. They really are great watches especially if you want to fly under the radar.

    Excellent informative video.

Suprised that the movements were assembled by hand without gloves.
wondered how they avoid the odd bit of lint deposited on to the dial?
