I watched this and then turned to my wife to ask, "Why does Han Solo look so aged but Chewbacca looks exactly the same?" She reminded me that Wookiees are supposed to live for 400 years. I'm not sure where that factoid came from, but as someone up-thread stated, I picked a good un!
This will be a smash
Technology plus the real original team etc
Awesome
Chewbacca has aged much better than Han Solo ...
It is, thanks, it's online here:

New Snowtrooper looks amazing, a lot like the original Ralph McQuarrie design:
So looking forward to this film.
^ I try desperately not to!
Am I the only person who hopes that Jar Jar Binks is in the film?
Just finished downloading Harmy's despecialized editions of ANH and ESB in anticipation
Han So Old. Baddum tish.
Harrison Ford looks pretty good for a 72 y/o tbh.
I'm not ashamed to say I got a tiny bit emotional watching that trailer with my 4yo
Look at this: Father Roderick. He's a local priest (well nearly, only 30 miles from here). He's known as the Geekpriest. Here, he's explaining the trailer like it's his Sunday's sermon.

Mini MST actually asked to watch ESB, well "Star Vors" as she pronounces it, today so that she could see the the "green monster" AKA Yoda - pleased as punch that my indoctrination programme is working
MST wrote -"just finished downloading Harmy's despecialized editions of ANH and ESB in anticipation*"
Thanks for info on Harmy ! !
Ill be looking at this hopefully as ive been only watching my vhs versions from late 80s as opposed to the butchered Lucas later versions. (1990s vhs onwards and dvd)
On the face of it -its looking like my early non cgi vhs first three could even not be original.
Anyway cant wait for the latest film
Thanks for that MST - had never heard of Harmy's version before!

Welcome!
You know the original versions are included in the bluray box set I think, although that's from memory as they're upstairs and I'm too lazy to check. I also have the original cuts on DVD. In fact I've got about three or four copies of the films when you take into account blu Rays, DVDs, 1997 editions and originals :o)
There's a new pirate drogue in this one, Aaaar2D2.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
I hope they do, but suspect they will drag it out a while longer to maximise profits. I have the originals on DVD, which I got quite recently after spending ages researching the various editions. Can confirm they were never released on Blu-Ray, otherwise I would have bought that instead of the DVD version.
The DVDs are themselves a transfer from laserdisc. There hasn't been a new digital release, other than the messed-up ones, since that laserdisc version. It's not strictly speaking even DVD quality, let alone full Blu-Ray HD quality. It's also only one specific DVD box set from about 2007 (don't quote me on the exact year), which can make it hard to track down and the price fluctuates a lot (sometimes they go for upwards of £150, but I got mine for about £50, sealed NOS, from an Amazon marketplace seller).
Just watched this on youtube. Star Wars celebration.
check out the new droid BB8 (about 29 mins in) I assumed it was totally CG but no, tis a practical working effect.

Went to see the new avengers movie with my eldest son yesterday and they showed the first star wars trailer not the latest one. Wtf?!
I'm going to start the Star Wars watching with my lad this weekend.
As he's only 4 I might well start with the Jar Jar Binks one.

Jar Jar leads to anger. Anger leads to the dark side.
Also Machete Order
As a good friend of mine succinctly put it:
"This better not be shit"
I think we can all relate to that.
I prefer options 3 and 4, with 4 being my final decision if it was a first time viewing

edit: 3! i meant 3 bein my final decision for the first time

Just watched the originals with my just about 4 year olds....both in floods of tears about Darth Vadar/Annakin at the end....
CAN't wait for this film!!!
Wish my 3yo had an interest in Star Wars but nothing.
I on the other hand am contemplating the 4,5,6, then 7 at midnight in IMAX marathon on release day at my local cinema with my father in law...
