Thread: NOS mil straps

    NOS mil straps

If any of you BMW'ers are interested I've got some NOS mil straps at a reasonable price in Sales Corner:

Same as the one my Smiths in the previous thread, see also these fine watches wearing the straps from the same job lot:

Just a note of thanks to Rev-O

My straps arrived today. They set tritium dials off a treat.

Some blurry iPhone pics of them on a on an A11 and 6b (the A17 is on a generic green canvas).

Thanks to Ollie for making these available to TZers

    Happy to help.

It's no secret I could have sold a hundred of these -- I'm still getting messages asking if there's any left over etc etc. Also, some members wanted 10 or 20 or whatever.

And they really do look fantastic on old mil watches. Comfy, too.

I am considering having some made to the pattern, maybe slightly longer and with brass buckles. Need to find the right canvas material, it's quite loosely woven and coarse and is either cotton or possibly a cotton / linen mix. Could probably get some old webbing, I have a Dutch army bag from the 40's or 50's that is pretty much perfect. That way the fabric would be genuine old stock. I have a friend who's handy with a sewing machine. People could then wear the new ones as a daily choice and keep the NOS ones for display / reference / best.

I have dredged-up the threads on mwr that deal with old / period canvas straps here might be looking at making one like these (i.e. NATO style with cloth keepers) and one more like the AF.0210 one-piece pull-through with brass hardware.)

Hi Rev-0 I would be interested if you could replicate the strap from post #1 in say different widths.
    Thanks.

Thanks Ollie, really pleased with mine and although a bit small for the OD really like the look and very comforable..

Will perhaps have to buy a more suitable military piece to accompany it..

Here's mine, it has taken me a while to get the right watch for the strap. I'm very happy with this combination.
