Aramis original in the eighties for me.
Talking at work today about 'Denim For Men' aftershave made me think about bygone smells.

Aramis original in the eighties for me.
Jade East, Hai Karate, Jovan Musk Oil, Pierre Cardin and Kouros have all been my faves in the past.
Joop, obsession for men, Drakkar Noir.... Ahhh late 80s / early 90s.
Monsieur hubinot from the 80s, even managed to track down a full one 25 years later from Australia , not quite the same because of age I thought
Still like and use Brut, I think it smells really clean and fresh
Edit.....ahhh shino, I thought we were in the random disclosure thread

Canoe.
Musk in a bottle.
Kouros , Krizia , Karl Lagerfeld , Eau Savage .......
......and Czech and Speake No.88 which I have bought religiously for the past 18 years !
I started with Tabac, and them moved to Obsession when a bit older. Aaaah!
Blue Stratos for me because of the blue bottle and it was highly inflammable. I bought a bottle of Kouros from Binns because I wanted to win a BMW motorbike but didnt
I remember Valerie Leon from the Hai Karate adverts.
I was only a kid but she was a stunner.
I have gone old school and reverted to Brut. Amazing the amount of people that comment on the nice smell then turn up their nose when they find out what it is.
Late 1980s was the pinnacle of poof juice!
Then again, circa. 2000 L'Eau d'Issey omg had to carry a stick to beat the wenches off
I am not going to say anything because if I do you'll all be trying to outbid me on ebay for the last remnants :-)
:-)

What was the 80s aftershave that apparently contained pheromones that were irresistible to women ?
Insignia has everything, shampoo to shower gel, deodorant and aftershave for one all over smell.
^^^This^^^ And I remember using Mandate as a teenager.

60% of the time, it works every time.
I was bought a small bottle of Fahrenheit. Wore it and had a splitting headache all evening. Not touched it since.
Lynx Africa, I think I wore it all through my teen years.
blue stratos ,pierre cardin, quorom, aramis through early teen years progressing in quality in my eyes as i had more money haha
Fahrenheit was mine.
Aramis,Givenchy gentlemen, paco rabane angd Egoiste are all favourites of mine.
In the late 80s mine was Jazz, then Fahrenheit in early 90s
Kouros, Paco Rabane and Givenchy, I still wear them now.
Quorum. A 1970s aftershave but I only discovered it a year ago and I love it. It's cheap as chips as well.
I had forgotten about Jazz and Insignia !
Cheers..
Jase
some of these names have conjured up some saturday nights in the 80"s / 90"s
as i walked down the high street leaving a vapour trail behind me of
Jazz , Cacharel , Xerysus , Van cleef & Apres , even Joop
does the metal top of the Kourus bottle still rust if you have it in the back of the bathroom cabinet for 5 years or more !
Cheers

interesting kettle terence
I really don't get this - thankfully I don't have any 'aftershave memories' to haunt me.
Perfume? ...well that's different.
In rough chronological order once I stopped nicking my Dad's Old Spice and Brut my early ventures into smellies were; Pino Silvestre (until I was informed in a caring sharing way that I smelled like toilet cleaner!), Eau Sauvage, Paco Rabanne, Guerlain Vetiver (which I still buy occasionally)Habit Rouge, Givenchy Gentleman, JP Gaultier Le Male and Jazz.
Nowadays I'm a dedicated wearer of Acqua Di Parma Colonia as a day time fragrance and either AdP Assoluta for normal nights out or AdP Intensa for posh do's and 'romantic' evenings.
Cheers

Aqua Velva:):)......used to steal some from my brothers....many moons ago
Aramis, drakkar noir and kouros, they were the days
I still wear Drakkar Noir! On the rare occasions I slap on some aftershave, that is. Tricky to find these days, I have one unopened bottle in the wardrobe that I managed to score in Verona a couple of years ago..
Cheers,
