Many thanks for the effort that you've clearly put into this. Pequignet is a brand that I've heard of before but they'd never really popped up on my radar and I'll have to look into them. I like both of the Gallet watches, though I doubt I represent their core market and I certainly haven't got the deep pockets - it also seems that they are pushing the complication front a little further.

    Great post, thanks for sharing

Nice to see a few different photos and your views on the new watches

Pity you didn't use the right IMG tags, for those of us on tapatalk. But it was worth the trip to the web version of the forum! ;)

Thanks! A lot of very nice stuff.

I wish the Seiko high beat Diver had come in a slightly different packaging...

What a great read and a nice start to my morning, I get the red mist just for trying to take a non-fuzzy photo and then manage to actually post it! So you Sir are a total star
...also thank goodness that while there were some fantastic pieces (Patek Pilot for one) the ones that I really lusted after were the Daydates and the Seiko ltd ed Marin Master neither of which I could see myself buying 'new' anyway...
    Cheers to you.

Have to say two things talk to me from this collection. Heuer Carrera chrono and those Grand Seikos.
    Nice review, thanks for that!

Thanks for taking the time to put that together - great to see all the pictures I think the independents are making much nicer watches than the big brands.

I was wondering if it was worth going to Basel, but I think I'll just save my money and read your report each year.

Some brands I'd never heard of so I obviously can't afford them but a great revue. Thanks for sharing.

No unfortunately not, but if it's anything like this vintage Longines Telemetre I tried on, it'll be a stunner...

I enjoyed that Wayne so thanks for the post.

Based on all the photographic difficulties, you have done well.

My favourites were the 42mm Patek's. They looks simply stunning.

    Hi Wayne...

Thanks for taking the time and effort to post the review with all the nicely composed pictures

I was rather struck with one of Thorpe modest offerings... The first Oris pictured...

    Cheers

Really appreciate the narrative, never mind the stunning photos. Your post is like being shown around a city by a guide, great detail, explanation of differences coupled with some objective opinion. Great post. Steve

Thanks for the report really good. I wonder what Basel world is like for your average joe that doesn't have an "in"

Not worth going to, I'd say. Especially factoring in the crazy price levels of everything in Switzerland.

Shame isn't it really would be good if it was more accessible to all

It's accessible in the way you can visit, but perhaps not attend a lot of the stands.

    FFS....!
How hard of thinking do the pair of you have to be, to not consider others when quoting a comment with large images?
We don't need to see the bloody watch three times in almost as many posts – just snip the images out, leaving the text, or simply reference the member by name.

    P1ss off mate!

So we are not allowed a quote to include two pictures for reference? Yes it is frustrating when someone quotes a post with 10 pictures in it etc but 2....come on! I must have missed that one in the TZ UK Induction course.
