Advice needed - Asian travel and Rolex!

Fellows in madness I need some of your usual fine advice please!

Next week I am travelling to Singapore and then onto Beijing and looking to see if it is worth picking up a Z Blue Rolex Milgauss.

I know China is expensive due to taxes etc but what about in Singapore...will places offer deals? If so which dealers do you recommend.

Currently it seems on the grey market you can pick one up for around £4600-£4900 (Chrono24, iconic etc)

    Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Paw

Good deals do appear in local fora, grey BNIB's and used. Grey sellers need time to get the watch shipped in though.

    Also check out http://www.jwwatch.com.
John always has some BNIB and used pieces. Trusted and offers good pricing. Open only on Thursdays and Saturdays (12:30-4pm)

Rest of the used watch shops are China Town have loads of rolexes, but their pricing is higher in comparison to local forum pricing.

This guys is a Rolex AD, and has a few BNIB or NOS discontinued models apart from the current models.

Pricing is a bit crazy but if he feels you are genuine buyer he will negotiate.

    Good luck and happy hunting.

Peng Kwee in Lucky Plaza on Orchard, and beautiful assistants, for second hand. Will deal on prices too. Whether it's worth buying new depends on the current exchange rate and how much discount the AD will give, the multi-brand dealers tend to give better discounts than the boutiques, but not always.

    Hi Mate:

I am Singapore based and there are loads of second hand Rolex Dealers around. Bugis, China Town, Lucky Plaza. Asia is definitely a haggle place so bargain and bargain hard. They can only say no.

www.swx.com.sg > FORUM > SINGAPORE TRADING PIT is the best private marketplace (You might have to sign up to see- free). There are no guarantees in life but I have been buying/selling on there for 7 years with no issues. Singapore has a rather 'tough' stance on all crime including fraud so I feel pretty safe.

I have also used JW Watch, Precision Watch, Passions.sg and Visiotime.

I would check out golden landmark, a few reputable shops that sell new and used rolex there, remember to bargain hard. Would avoid peng kwee... High pricing and their sales reps are clueless...

IMHO Hong Kong provides the best deals, Taiwan as well. Bangkok a bargain for Grand Seiko
