    A few gratuitous Patek pics

I took these the other night when I had a brief moment contemplating selling the Nautilus. Fortunately no deal was done and it is happily still on my wrist. Anyway, thought I'd share the gratuitous pics I took....

    Don't sell it!!

If circumstances demand me parting with my collection, the Nautilus will be the very last to go...

Ha yes, this is exactly what I've always thought. I recently spent 10 days doing work on my girlfriend's new house, during which time the Naut was in a drawer and I was wearing my rather battered Seamaster. One thing led to another and I briefly flirted with the idea that I might sell the 5711. Suffice to say that idea has been fully quashed!

Nautilis was conceived as a steel watch and that's hownit should remain IMHO.

But the 5711R is beautiful... Just not sure how wearable!

Tom, I believe I quote you "I'm not precious about it and just wear it"

Keep it mate, Yours was the first I saw on-wrist and loved it.

This is about as perfect as watches can get.

Still glad I didn't sell you my 5711 a couple of years back Tom.

the 5711 is a watch that has to be worn. It is the ultimate daily wear watch super svelt but solid, even more water resistant then the Rolex explorer for example but uber thin but not flimsy. Classy understated but sporty at the same time. It is for me the BEST one watch if I had to sell everythinf

Did you buy the same one back?!

Yep I'm with you on all of that. There is only one reason I will sell mine - I plan on buying a new one for my 40th. Few years to go but with that price cut and the very long lead time (if you believe Patek!!) I might have to order soon...

I prefer the one he has, would love it if it was the white dial version.

I have one on order, but the time ticks by slowly and I have to live off beautiful photos like these - hence I thought I would re-post some of them. Thanks for sharing!

Out of curiosity, what sort of lead time are they quoting at the moment?

If I ever get the funds together again, I'm buying a white dial version!

I tried 4 or 5 ADs - none would quote a definite time: one said at least two years, but he had a long waiting list, so I ordered elsewhere. Some people seem to think that you can find them with no waiting, but I failed in that: I guess one might get lucky if you contacted an AD at just the right moment. There is some consolation in anticipation, but that grows stale!
