    Weasel riding a woodpecker

    Quite an amazing photograph.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31711446

It's like something out of one of my sons Chima magazines.

The weasel is clearly an advance scout for a horde of rodent aerial cavalry about to descend upon their ancient feline enemies.

It's unusual to see a weasel powered Woodpecker for sure.

How can you tell the difference between a weasel and a stoat?

    A weasel's weasily recognised, and a stoat's stoatally different.

    I'll get me coat.

So we can get a pin sharp picture of a weasel riding a woodpecker, but we can't get on of a UFO.

Apparently it was a attack by the weasel on a nest and the Kingfisher only just managed to get away after a scrap .... I was a little disappointed to learn it wasn't a previously known symbiotic relationship.

    For Kingfisher read Woodpecker (green).

As for weasel, I am thinking more Stoat (or Ermine or lesser Weasel).

Bloody good old photo all the same

It's a great pic, but some of the 'shopped Internet responses have been brilliant....

Sad now but that looks like the new XXX film starring Vin Weasel.

He does all of his own stunts you know.

There are plenty of pin sharp photos of UFOs. Really. But, just as with photos of weasels on woodpeckers' backs, people doubt that they are real.

Also, just like pictures of weasels on woodpeckers' backs, some of them may very well be real but who can tell which ones?

It was always difficult to tell real from fake in the pre-digital age but modern digital techniques mean that it can be extraordinarily difficult to tell real from fake (especially because no one knows what real actually looks like with UFOs!).

As it is freeloading like a typical socialist weasel, no further interest here from me!

I think the problem is that if you get a pin-sharp image of a UFO then it would shown to be something mundane... it needs to be fuzzy to be a "U"FO.

Not necessarily. You can get a pin sharp picture of an object and still not be able to identify it.

How is that prediction working out?

    http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...ght=prediction

Maybe it's a Klingon bird of prey with an Antican gnawing it's way into the warp drive.

It turns out that two of the beasts attacked the woodpecker and the smaller one got on to the bird's back, the lesser of the two weasels...

I assumed it was a fat stoat living off the back of the woodpeckers!

If it were pin sharp you'd be able to identify it and then it wouldn't be an Unidentified Flying Object anymore, would it ? ;-)
