Smile The Watch Forum Refugees Sunday moderns and seniors (all welcome)

I thought a few who are still in the refugee camp and are yet to venture out into the 'wilds' of TZ might want to follow the traditional Sunday thread, so i'll make a start with the one ive got on at the moment...needless to say its a sunday modern. Happy Sunday everyone...btw those who aern't refugees can join in to

    No.

For the umpteenth time, we have a Friday thread. A Friday thread only.

If any jumped-up newbie wants to have a Monday, Tuesday, whatever WRUW thread, they are welcome to go and start their own watch forum.

    Fridays. Only.

    Understood?

You're late - Mach always starts it on the stroke of midnight on Saturday (the sad b*st*rd).

Not sure why this has put people's backs up. No big deal, surely?

I must have missed those memos from Eddie, too.

We have a few TWF people on here, who might stay around. Not likely to, if they get treated badly, I don't think. Or don't we want new members any more??

The Watch Forum Refugees Sunday moderns and seniors (all welcome)

It hasn't put anyone's back you, it's just the sense of humour over here.

Having said that, a number of newbies have tried to start a "what are you wearing?" thread and they've always been shot down in flames.

    But here's mine.

Tell you what, Rob...the old bezel wasn't really that bad....a bit of colour from a black 'Sharpie' on the rubbed bits will make it like new. If you want the old one, it's yours, FOC. PM me your details, and I'll get it off ASAP. You may want to wait until TWF is back online, but if you're really desperate you should be able to contact me here....

Why's that? Because a new member started a thread unaware that the site owner had previously notified members not to start a wruw on day's other than Friday? I've been on here for a couple of years and whilst I don't post frequently I browse the forum daily and I didn't know. Looking at the posts above it also appears that other non newbies were unaware also.

It's been made clear now so fair enough if that's the way it is, it's Eddies site and he's entitled to run it as he wishes and I wouldn't argue with that.

Suggesting the site owner should 'go crazy with the delete member' function though? Really?

its funny how once 'their' forum goes down, they all head over here, I know a very small few spent time here and there, but most didn't, easy to spot them as well, with joined 2009 with 83 posts,

as for the thread, I find it kind of funny that's its usually the newbies who start a Monday thread or whatever day apart from Friday, and in a way it is a newbie, whatever the join date,

all this is irrelevant anyway, I am sure Eddie will be along to wipe it off the face of the Interwebs,

    what am I wearing today?

Guys, we have to abide by the rules. On our forum, we have a Friday, Saturday and Sunday thread. Here, it's only a Friday thread. Remember, most of us are only over here because our forum is down for a while. If someone from another forum came over to us and started trying to interfere with our 'way', I'm sure there would be some pretty strong comments. I would just like to thank TZ-UK for allowing those of us who are members, but don't regularly visit, to come here in our hour of need.... I remember a lot of TZ-UK members came over to us for a while when TZ was down. It's a reciprocal agreement.

At the end of the day, we all like watches....Let's just chill out a bit......

    BTW...what a complete knob head......

For what it's worth I'm a regular (if you can call it that) here. I didn't even know TWF was down until I read it on here a couple of days ago.

Fair enough- Eddie's forum, his rules.

FWIW, I've been around a while (over 900 posts, so not a newbie), and I didn't know WRUW was restricted to Fridays only.

    But now I do.

Wow, you're positively dripping with testosterone aren't you?

You know, I'm sure with a little effort you could have made the same point without being such an arse about it!

Maybe it's just me but I'm not sure that some of the posts here reflect the 'friendly' nature of this place very well at all.

I've been a member on both sites for some years now (as have many others) and I'd like to think that some of the guys who have recently joined in to get their horological fix will stick around when the RLT site comes back on stream. I have to agree with apm101 on this point and think backward point was a little shall we say... unwelcoming???.

    Rob

Incidentally... Even though I've been around here for years and check in regularly I didn't know about the Fridays only rule either, but I think we're all happy to accept that it's Eddie's site so Eddie's rules apply.

I do not understand why all the TWF members cannot just integrate in to the forum and participate in existing threads. It would be good to have some different options.

All this I'm only using the site as ours is down business is bound to get the regular forum users wound up as its rude. I am not surprised that you haven't had a great welcome from some people!
