I had an empty box delivered from Germany by DHL, got nowhere with a claim. Luckily it wasn't a Rolex.

This happened to me a few years ago.
I bought a Tag from a US seller and received an empty watch box. This was before Paypal buyer protection.
I contacted the seller and he said he could claim on the insurance but I had to fill in a form which he would have to file a claim as the sender.
I did this but never heard another thing from the seller
I even got stung on import duty. I tried to claim the duty back but they said I had to prove the box was empty. Differcult to do without witnesses and video.
In my case it did look like it had been re sealed with parcel tape but saying that if the seller was bad he had the watch and the insurance money if there was any.

I had the same thing happen to me 9 years ago with a cariter santos 100 chrono. Back then paypal only covered you for £500. This is quite common as the way paypal works allows for these scenario's to exist so these scammers exploit them. If you have it all on video and can also prove the weight of the item when posted & delivered etc I think you should ok and be covered.

    Best of luck.

Don't see what help a video is.

Video packing the watch then swap it for an empty box.

Yes can see how that can also be exploited. I guess it depends how much info is recorded in the video i.e. maybe there's already a pre paid postage attached which obviously can't be replicated but most importantly is the weight of the box since we're talking about at least 400g+
