Mine arrived on Saturday (postie left it behind side gate), and it sat outside in the rain in its cardboard wrapping until I get home on Sunday night.
Despite the cardboard almost being soaked right through, the contents were rescued in almost 100% condition - added patina!! lol

Don't suppose you could send it on if your not wanting it, to those who missed out?

It's advertising material that people asked to have sent to their houses, like deliberately signing up for junk mail. Why did anyone think this would be anything other than lightweight brand affirmation type stuff?
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

it's absolute rubbish - you arent missing a thing.

Great that we have 3 pages of "got mine" replies so we all know who received theirs. Just so we arent left wondering, y'know.

(off to check that I didnt also post a stupid "got mine" comment somewhere in this thread...)

The bomb squad have probably still got them, judging by the state of the first copy I received they must have had a go at that as well

  14. #164
Oh well was going to give it to my mate to keep in his vintage watch shop - he collects nick nacks like that,...

Definately don't mind not getting a copy - what bothers me is I've emailed them twice after they cofirmed I got onto the list to get sent one and no reply....

Pardon the thread resurection; Just received my second copy of the magazine today. 'The Speed Edition'...

It is a very well presented magazine (with very nice photography in an article on streamlining and art deco type stuff in this edition).

No wonder the watches are so expensive ! - But its a good effort by Omega in my opinion.

I would be intrigued to know what this costs Omega?
It sure is a very high quality and heavy product, and even funded by some big brand glossy adverts, it must have a heck of a cost!
I bet a cover price would easily be £5.99?

    A back issue is €19.

Remember this is a company that charges £150 for a nato strap.

Got mine yesterday and although I was quite scathing about the last issue this one has a nice feature on streamlining/deco and old Speedies.

Most of those new versions look cak though.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Had my 2nd arrive too, thought it would just have been the one copy

  42. #192
I forgot about this. I didn't even receive my first copy, not much hope in getting no. 2!

  43. #193
I popped in to the Omega boutique in Westfield, London on Saturday evening for a quick look round and while I was in their little seating area looking up at an open book about old Omegas ( a mighty tome ) I was handed a copy of edition 16 by the saleswoman from a pile on the bottom shelf. When I went to leave the shop the man behind the front counter said 'excuse me sir, has someone given you that magazine?' to which I replied 'yes thank you' and walked out. I do hope the saleswoman isn't disciplined for damaging Omega's profit margin!

That's ridiculous - they have stacks of these in the Swiss lounges at Zürich airport. I could take a stack of them if I was inclined.

Or more accurately - if you fancy your chances of escaping past the lounge attendant you could try....
