Stockmann, the poor man's Harrod's in Helsinki, houses a couple of jewellers/AD's. There was a watch day celebration (for no specific reason I could decipher) and there were brand representatives from every one of their brands in the store. Naturally G-Shock arrived with such flair that they couldn't fit inside.

Yes they are getting common BUT not many casio watches you can set the date to how it should be in the UK.

    Great watch.
Always been surprised that Casio haven’t allowed the date format to be changed previously.

My 3159 module can do that, but only on certain days.

I guess if you don't know what month it is, it's time for the retirement home.

Loving the features on this. Also, can't beat the 80's retro vibe!

I assume you're referring to my post ? ! Well I saw the 2 yesterday here at a shop in HK and they simply are stunning. Beautiful! Not an expert on Square G's but there're a lot of differences apart from the price and bling bling. Check it out ..

As mentioned I'm really not into squares and metal G's but I have to admit that Casio did a fantastic job. For the square G Shock lovers it's a must have ( at least one ) IMHO

Thanks for this. Wasn't just aimed at you but this is helpful. I read on wikipedia that casio have sold over 100 million g-shocks and I was just staggered by that!

I know what you mean - I went to view the steel and gold one, convinced I would buy it and just couldn't buy it. It was stunning, looked good on the wrist too.

But I don't think I am a G metal fan nor a massive square fan - I only have 2 square Gs a basic 5600 and the King DGK monster (which really is an absolute beast....)

    It is a funny one.
I can really appreciate a Froggy, but only on someone else’s wrist!
Never enjoyed any of the several variations that I have owned, and I think that this is the only G that I really don’t get on with???!!

By G-Shock standards, this is relatively small!

Am I right and have Casio finally allowed users to swap the month-day over to day-month?

Are you familiar with the MR-G, MT-G and GST lines? At least they're all steel or titanium so you don't have to worry about any wild colours, though you may still find most of them a bit outrageous.

No, I'm not familiar with the Mr T lines, or whatever they're called, are they a bit more 'back on planet earth'?

There are many analogue G-Shocks that are black resin or plain metal colour, but pretty much of all of them are what one might call big and bold.

Maybe they are just not for you.

No, my work mate has a g shock it has analogue hands (drilled) all black, if it was toned down slightly I might be game. Model number, not a clue.
