There are a number of sellers on e-Bay based in HK and Singapore, and I’m mindful that cheapest isn’t always best, so if there were any suggestions, they’d be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I bought mine from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/fishing_t...p2047675.l2559

It took just over a week to arrive, through DHL.

Did you get rumbled for VAT and fees?

Thanks for that. Decided to buy one at lunch time from eBay. Bought it from Sampiglobal based in HK. Decent price, free shipping, probably have some VAT to pay when it arrives. Will pop up a post when it arrives. Thanks for the suggestions.

Actually an old froggy now DD - I've been a good boy and not bought a G for like a yr(!). The new froggy is calling, but its a big boy....I nearly bought the turquoise you have above end of last yr, stunning G colour.

As promised, some pitiable efforts at photography on an overcast, dreary day of my new GA835.

First up is the removed gold keeper and unpleasant, plastic buckle on a fixed bar. The former totally unbalances the watch on the wrist and the latter is just not very nice. It's functional but why? As I mentioned in my write-up, I had to destroy it to remove it and I enjoyed doing so.

I replaced the buckle and keeper with those from a DW-5600MS which is on a combi.

I've deliberately not cleaned the strap, to show that the matt material does seem to show up detritus quite easily. But it is a G-Shock and you can wash it easily to recover the appearance. This is the buckle from the 5600MS.

Here's the watch as it appears, as close as I can get it to real life.

I had said it felt like a 6900 but this comparative shot shows it wears larger.

    By itself.

    And next to a GD350.

As you can see that's a better size match than a 6900, although in terms of height on the wrist the GD350 is taller.

I checked and the combi-bracelet does fits the GA-835, although at the moment I prefer the original strap with modified buckle and keeper. It's a great watch and I'm enjoying the features, although the stopwatch recorder does take some learning!

    Cheers

    David

    ^^^^ Great featurette David.
    Thanks for the effort.
The watch looks great, and makes me look forward to the imminent arrival of my red version.

Thanks Andrew, I'm looking forward to seeing your new arrival.

It's a slippery slope but seeing all the MudMasters on this thread and enjoying the accuracy of the seconds hand hitting the markers on the GA835, is making me think I may take a step up in the size stakes. Maybe after pay day.... :)

You are definitely getting the G bug.
I have 2 yet to appear on here, and 3 more on the way Send help!
The Mudmaster is an incredible watch, but I also run a solar and atomic Mudman.
As is well known on here, I can’t get on with a Frogman, yet love a Mudman.
My G’s are regularly keeping some ‘big hitters’ off my wrist.

Thanks a lot crazyp You're right, the turquoise is a stand- out. Really a surprise package. Checking all 6 the turquoise is truly the most unique one. Pls get one before the price hike (once discontinued - don't know when)

I know it's a quartz watch but I'm pleased to be able to report that the GA835 is, a week since it was last set, only half a tick off from my atomically sync'ed Gs and the Time.Is website. I like that level of accuracy and reminds me of a G-9000, the old style Mudman, which was insanely accurate over months.

    Great accuracy
Really loving the stealth look, and very subtle hint of red.
My red version has yet to appear (too many Bank Holidays!), but it didn’t stop a work colleague ordering exactly the same watch. I bet his turns up first too!!!

I really should recall a watch that I’ve previously owned. That exact model!

Nice group photo. The only version that I’d owned was the one in the original pic!

The best ani-digital G-Shock, in my opinion of course, finally found a new-in-box condition example:

Andrew, I'm sure no alternative GPR straps available. Just out few weeks. With all the new models ( GPR, Quad Gulfmaster, D-1000 Frogman - it's getting harder finding & swapping straps ( too expensive I guess )

My that looks familiar :) welcome to the club. Mine is still on the wrist 12 days since its arrival, and is still only half a click slow compared to Time.is. They're fun to play with too, lovely smooth hand sweeping when jumping around the modes. Enjoy!
