Wow my first post , added a G-Shock to my collection when I went to Tokyo in 2016

Seem to get a lot of hate in the watch community for being gaudy and too large but I love it

Couldn't find them anywhere but ebay. Really quick delivery, a week door to door.

Have been wearing nothing else since this arrived, looking forward to the arrival of the steel one next month but could be tempted by the white one above .

    New arrival...

GA1000-1A. I was pretty sure I had ordered the 8A but oh well... will likely try again.

Funnily enough, I am no fan of the Combi bracelet.
If you get a great strap, like on the GW-5000, then why change?!

I know what you mean, get the one you want, not the one which fills the gap. Sadly when the sought after watch is as rare and pricey as a GW-5000-B, the hunt could be long, although not entirely unenjoyable. They are nice looking watches.

Left it in a drawer for 2 years, almost forgot I had this baby. It deserves more wrist time.

Forgive my G-Shock newbie ignorance, but doesn't the 5610HR cover that?

Good shout, yes that's very nice too. The 5610s are a tad smaller than the 5600s and the 5600-HR has a slightly different shade of negative display, it's a bit pinker.

I have one. Good if you’re just going to keep count of steps through the day, but the watch itself doesn’t give you actual distance/pace etc, so I end up using a phone or better my suunto when running.

I see.. I didn’t realise it wasn’t that functional! Maybe I’ll keep my eye out for a refurbed Apple Watch instead

I know how you feel. I posted mine on the previous page but you can't tell it's gold because it was taken in the evening light. I wasn't sure but now I like it a lot. I think I'm going to pick up the steel one as well when it becomes more widely available.

You have to wear it confidently or it doesn't work!

    Thanks for the additional photos.
I like it, but still not convinced I’d wear it......

One to try, once available at a much lower price point!

I love this G-shock! I think it was the one I owned many years ago.

  30. #3480
Well i have received the 35th anniversary
DW-5035D-1B, somehow the gshock site had stock so i grabbed one.

And i have managed to buy a GW-5035A-1DR at retail - though not in the uk so will sting for the vat when it arrives... at last a negative screen to go with the gw-5000

Piccies once it arrives... so just the silver all metal to go... but no rush to grab that quite yet...

    Cheers

    Matt

Ah the relative newbie G collectors

This isn't that old, I think from 2011 - when limited editions were (in my mind) totally cool. They still command a decent price for a basic G.

I found this by pure chance when visiting Hamburg in a store, was totally sold out everywhere...

Not sure what the supply situation is like in the UK on the silver, I ordered from Timeless and they are now saying if you pay a $500 deposit you will receive the watch in Feb 2019 !

Thanks S.L. Indeed not so easy to get. Got mine a couple of years ago NOS for around 1700 USD. Don't think they're much cheaper now ( unworn, impeccable condition, complete with tags, box etc )

Ordered mine from Timeless and with duty/customs etc came in at around £465 which is a bit less than i was expecting and only a few pounds more than UK prices(if you could get one)

    Great watch.

Yes, these are lovely and not unreasonably expensive. The 5700 model (I half-regred not waiting for this and going for the non-screwback 5750, well it's too late now) and the Frogman are also part of this particular line-up:

Having had a few G-Shocks over the years (four currently), incl. a 5610, these metal watches look really amazing. Congratulations on bagging one - I asked in the Carnaby Street store recently and they indicated they had had the same number of steel and gold in originally, and weren't expecting any more steel in despite the fact the steel verson may (or may not be, the person who served me didn't see too clear) 'limited'. Hopefully they will become more readily available, but the supply trajectory certainly isn't clear to me .... enjoy wearing it!

Thanks for the tip, I have already done it earlier today (even switched to German language days). To be proven on tomorrow's Friday thread.
