My ystudio Brassing Pocket fountain pen arrived today. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
One of the X750s arrived today... I've filled it with J. Herbin Anniversary Storm Grey ink (with gold flake) and it seems to be very VERY nice. A little wet, but that might just be the ink.
Going to use it for a few days and see how I go. Not bad for £3 delivered from China.

/\ That looks nice. May have to have a look at these.....

Pelikan fountain pens are pretty awesome and in many ways smoother and often cheaper than MB
^ They're typically American. Good value, nice colour resins and hard steel nib. I found the Duragraph too long when posted but am on the lookout for a Minigraph. Monteverde is another good value US brand, or Bexley or Edison if you want to pay a bit more.

£45 - really impressed with it, I agree it's a bit long when posted, but I can live with it. Came from cult pens if you're interested, be warned if you close click the link, could be expensive;)

What ink does everyone use? Something other than blue or black! Need to fill by twsbi eco

It all depends what you use your pen for.If you're using it to write with Diamine of J Herbin make several shades of blue and black. If you're a pen nerd they also make a whole range of ghastly colours and some with metalflake in, or you can try some of the stupidly expensive Japanese stuff.
I like Diamine Inks and have many colourful shades....the little 30ml bottles are only £2.35 from Cultpens. And they are both great British companies :)
Today I have inked up
Diamine Aqua - Visconti Van Gogh
Diamine Handel - Pilot Custom 74
Diamine Eau de Nils - Lamy 2000 * this is one of my favourite colours
Diamine Ancient Copper - TWSBI 580
Iroshizuku Asa Goa - Platinum #3776
For the stupidly expensive inks or the hard to find brands I buy samples off ebay for a couple of quid from this seller in Scotland.

Don't put metallics in it as it will be a buggar to clean out!
Another fan of Diamine here. I must have 30 or so. Current Diamine inks in pens:
Eau de Nil (great cheap colour match for Sailor Yama-Dori)
Aqua Lagoon (v bright and fun, i write birthday cards with it)
Bilberry (personal favourite, very saturated purple)
Matador
Syrah
Other inks on the go:
Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo
Noodlers Old Manhattan Black (exclusively for sale in the Fountain Pen Hospital, NYC )
I like the additional lubrication you get with a nice expensive Japanese ink like Pilot or Sailor, but frankly for the price, Diamine allow me to have a gigantic collection of colours for very little financial outlay.
The Jinhaos are incredible value for money. Out of the box they are good writers.
The clincher is they take a No6 nib which can be got in various sizes and takes the pen to another level.
I got a Bock ef and 1.1 italic. Yes it's painful paying 7x the price of the pen for a nib, but the result is a beautiful writer for around £12.

These are my inks:
They are:
Front row
J Herbin Emerad of Chivor (Green with gold flakes)
Pilot iroshizuku shin-kai (blue/black)
Pilot iroshizuku kiri-same (Grey)
Robert Oster Fire and Ice (Teal with red shading)
Diamine Majestic Blue cartridges
Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Brown
Diamine Sargasso Sea
Cult Pens Deep Dark Orange
Diamine Teal
Diamine Blaze Orange
Diamine Imperial Blue
Diamine Ancient Copper
Back Row
Sailor Jentle Yama-Dori (Teal)
Sailor Jentle Tokiwa-Matsu (Olive green)
Pelikan Edelstein Topaz
Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire
Crikey! That is lot of inks. Thankfully I'm only allowed to use black at work. 50 shades of black perhaps! So far have Parker Quink permanent, Iroshizuku Take Sumi, Diamine jet black and onyx black. LuBee kindly sent me some Aurora black, will be trying it out in my Parker Sonnet EF
Its great stuff and very inexpensive, hence why I have about 25 different shades. I'd use it in any pen as it doesnt seem to have any unwelcome properties unlike some of the Noodlers inks.
The exception to this is the Shimmertastic Range I would keep this to a specific pen as its a sod to clean the shiny particles out if a pen ( Ive never had it clogg a feed but only use it in a Lamy Safari with a 1.9 nib)

My inkage habit listed below.
I am happy to get some sample vials and if anyone is interested, trade say 2ml testers (with the exception of those marked up as samples and the Lamy inks) either for some other ink or if you want to just cover the postage happy to do that.
Personally I'd like to try some more Iroshizuku inks, Pelikan and Robert Oster.

Maybe pencils are the Quartz equivalent of watches but I am getting into Rotring. It's fun buying the mechanical pencils that I remember having in the 1990s. In terms of fountain pens it seems that vintage Rotring are also collectable.
Yes, I've always liked Rotring mechanical pencils and used them before I went back to fountain pens. I was always losing them though, and dropping them so bending the lead sleeve at at the writing end.
I remember drawing maps and charts on tracing paper with Rotring drawing pens and stencils for the letters. Loved it, but totally redundant in the digital age.

Duofold arrived from Andymonkey today, lovely to look at, will get the ink out tomorrow.
Yes, I got the nibs complete with Bock feed. Although I know you can get just the standalone nib from say Goulet pens.
