Absolutely despicable.
Pretty poor CCTV considering the valuables he has in the house.
I saw an interview with him at home the other day where he was wearing a RM. I instantly wondered whether that had been a sensible move. Despicable all the same.
When he has been on TV whether its Jonny Ross or a post race cyclinginterview he has worn pretty smart watches. He races with a Richard Mille on! There are about 30 riders on the team, I think it’s only Cav and Allaphillipe who ride with them on.

It certainly feels like crime is becoming more violent and more brazen.
Sure we had issues in the 80s/90s but we never had armed motorcycle gangs.
If there’s anything that could burst the Rolex bubble it would be not being able to wear them out (particularly in London!)

I agree, but they are a pretty big market within the UK, so eventually that’s going to have an effect
Also, I do think Rolex are probably the most well known to thieves and there’s clearly a black market

Plenty of people here do, I’m sure they will be okay by the law of averages but every time they wear a Rolex in central London they spin the roulette wheel on their safety.
If your confident your not going to get turned over, can handle yourself against a gang of armed muggers then good for you but you can’t really moan if and when it does happen..
I think I like the odds of Rolex wearers better. Unless one of every 38 Rolex wearers is getting mugged.
Being discreet and aware of surroundings improves the odds further.
My solution when they catch these thugs is to remove their ability to use time productively for a minimum of 15-20 years. This kind of targeted thuggery is becoming way too common throughout the world.

Living in London and wearing a famous brand (10k plus) makes me nervous. All of my friends left and right tuck their watches deep into the cuff to hide them from the eagle eyes of the waiters in the restaurants. You never know who is on the job and who isn't. These gangs are seriously connected.
I'd stick to my pleasant and low attention Grand Seiko's.
It is a shame though, Richard Mille has now become a safe queen.

Did you read it? It's a news article dated today providing a trial update. Good to know they caught at least one of the robbers, with others on trial.

In no particular order, the DM is worse than toilet paper for news. Why would anybody be interested in 'famous people' being robbed when they laud their trinkets all over the place?. Nobody deserves it but it's hardly concerning news in the great scheme of bad news is it?. As for the media in general - whole different discussion which is not for the G&D.

I'd agree with your general sentiments about the DM, although on this occasion it's just reporting a trial in a similar fashion to the wider media.

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of the trial so it was news to me and any time they catch bad people is good news in my eyes.

Two men jailed:
...Romario Henry, 31, of Lewisham, south-east London, denied two counts of robbery but was found guilty following a trial and sentenced on Tuesday to 15 years in prison. Ali Sesay, 28, of Rainham, Kent, admitted two counts of robbery and was jailed for 12 years.
Judge David Turner KC told the defendants as he sentenced them: “This was planned, targeted, orchestrated, ruthless offending aimed at an internationally known sportsman and his wife who happened to be brand ambassadors for exceptionally valuable Richard Mille watches.”
Sesay also admitted six unrelated firearms offences and was sentenced to a further eight years in prison consecutive to the 12-year prison sentence for the robbery.
