That's very nice!
That's very nice!
Here's my Ensso Piuma - I would highly recommend these, and currently 30% off for Fathers day. I've ordered a couple now and they arrive super fast from LA in USofA.

PS sorry about the size of the images lately - I am struggling to get the image hosting site to make them smaller - I reduced these ones during upload but it seems to have made little difference.
Taroko notebooks are really good for silly projects :)
Delivery from Appelboom in Holland; a Visconti and a Montegrappa.
Best price for the pens I wanted, delivered in 2 days and wrapped like below (not requested / this is just how they wrap all their pens inside the delivery box!)
Ensso Pens
Currently 30% off*, free (fast) worldwide delivery, excellent customer service and the pen itself is fantastic - far better quality than the price would suggest. Solid and hefty.
I have no affiliation by the way - just a very pleased return customer!
I have the brass one being delivered tomorrow.
*its a Father's Day code - will try to find it**. Even at full price it's a bargain.

I have an EF on my black one, and a broad on the brass one yet to arrive.
They do a whole range and the nibs are beautiful to look at. They're stainless steel, so won't write quite like a 14k or 18k good nib, but if you're a fan of large somewhat fancy nibs, you'll love these.
Updated SOTC (missing my brass Kaweco Lilliput as it's had to go back for replacement due to a nib problem, and the brass Ensso Piuma which has been delayed in arriving)

I love visiting this shop - it has a wonderful selection of cards and other writing items. But more than that, it is based in the premises that used to be Alltree Brothers, a sport and toy shop owned by my father, then my mother and brother.
I'm not a pen enthusiast ando opened this thread out of curiosity - some wonderful memories. Serendipity indeed.
Today's work pens - can anyone name all 4 without cheating by reading my SOTC above?
I've been using a Palomino Blackwing 56 pencil today.
[QUOTE=72bpm;4394616] I love my fine mustard yellow vanishing point. So much so that I can't possibly think of a nicer pen for work and fast note taking. I'm tempted to order another one to keep at home, but could anyone recommend something complimentary? By complimentary I mean something which writes similarly fine but perhaps a different feel or flow?

Ok, having googled "montblanc starwalker extreme screenwriter", I clearly have the wrong box, so...
1) what model pen do I have / sorry I can't help!
2) why are pen shops so bad at mixing up boxes?
ARGH THAT EXPLORER IS BEAUTIFUL :( Speedmeister too...
Why do I read threads like this? I need another expensive/obsessive hobby like I need a hole in the head. Thanks all :-)
Japanese notebook has arrived.

Like the feel of the paper - but haven't tried it yet. The cover is a bit underwhelming - but being faux leather should wear well.

Is there an affordable, usable flex nib solution for everyday writing?
I tried in of those Jinhao Flex G eBay jobbies and it's completely unusable...it takes about 15 minutes of messing around scribbling, squeezing ink through, messing with tissue paper and so on before it will write at all, and then you get about a sentence before the ink stops under any degree of flex, and you need to start faffing all over again. I've tried Diamine and Lamy inks.
It's scratchy and horrible to write with, but I'm happy to accept that this is a feature of flex nibs, made worse by poor technique. I'm prepared to live with/learn as far as these go.
I was ready to chuck the thing in the bin and forget about flex, but when I compared the writing I did have against my non-flex scrawl, it looked amazing. I'm amazed how even a little line variation improved the look. Enough that I'd like to find a workable solution.
Depends on your idea of cheap, but the best value flex would be a Pilot/Namiki Falcon.
I have one and it's great fun to use, really slows down your writing and the results are very satisfying, although not for every day use, well not for me anyway.

A cheaper option would be something like a Noodles Ahab or whatever the newer model is, steel nib but flexible enough for good results. Not sure they are readily available in the UK though

Franklin Christoph has started selling a #6 flex nib: http://www.franklin-christoph.com/flex-nib.html
i love my leuchtturms :-). This one is the latest Copper edition. Notice that little brass stick on the side, I've put a B nib in and it writes super thick now.
