A complete transformation! I thought it was wood until the next picture.
I reckon you'l get more than five bucks back for that now...
Haven't posted here in a while!
I found it on eBay, "runs then stops", $4.95:
So I bought it, thinking to flip it but, when it arrived, the box felt a bit heavy. What I thought was wood turned out to solid brass!
So, after a bit of wet'n'dry work:
The movement was a cheap pin-lever by R. Lapanouse. I threw it in the ultra-sonic bath with some surgical spirits. When I switched the bath on, it started ticking, albeit slowly.
After it was clean and dry, I poked some lube in where I could reach and it ran and kept fair time.
So now it looks quite splendid on my computer desk, almost a shame to sell but I want my five bucks back, dammit ;-)
best regards,
Ted

I'll give you five bucks for it. Does that include postage to the UK?
Could you change the watch? It would make a really nice piece then, thinking 50s' - 60s' Hamilton or Omega dress watch etc.
Terry
Cor, what a stunning find and well done on the refurb. I like that.
