'Tis the season - for a SOTC

A few have come and gone during the last twelve months...to leave this lot:

Those that have arrived during the year:

I searched a long time for an untouched maxi dial 5513...and then two crackers came along more or less at the same time:

I also searched long and hard for the perfect 1016 & found this one in the most wonderful place...

A pre Daytona to add to the Daytona collection...

The perfect Great White 1665, untouched with the most fantastic patina...

This old Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox came via a part-ex deal (thank you Vince)...

    And my first vintage Heuer...

And the rest have been with me all year long...

    Firstly the GMTs...an old '65 gilt dial 1675, a 1970 1675 and a 1980 16750...

The other 5513, a ghostly 1968 metres first (in the foreground in the pic with the two maxi's)...

    A straight hand 1655 from 1972...

    A 1983 transitional 16800...

    A 1970 Red Sub...

Another lovely old Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox...

A gorgeous Jaeger LeCoultre 8 Day Perpetual Calendar...

Two old Breitling chronographs...an 806 Navitimer and an 815...

    And finally, a few Daytonas...

    Zenith black and white...

The 6263 Daytona is the watch I always aspired to have, from the day that I first became interested in watches...I am very lucky to now own three beautiful examples. These are the three watches in the collection that I wear the most..

I've missed a couple of modern ones (16710 and 16610), but there's probably enough pictures above already!

    Happy Christmas to TZ'ers everywhere.

Great collection. It must have taken some going to get all those pieces.

Fantastic collection there John, but I reckon you have too many 5513's and Ghost's... You should get rid of one!👀👍👂

Confucious says it's really bad Karma to be so attached to worldly possesions. I can relieve you of some of that Karma, particularly in the shape of a no date Memovox, a 1016 and a pre-Daytona.... anytime you like!

Thank you Vince...I do love a beautifully faded insert on an old 5513 or 1665, as I know you do also. I'll let you know when (if) the time comes...! Hope my old Rail Dial is still going strong.

Confucius never had a 6238 on his wrist...he may have changed his mind if so!

Indeed it is John thank you, the one I have retained the longest so far although do feel a desire for a Red 1680!

Thanks Mike. If only black dial 6238s were not so bl**dy expensive, my collection would be complete!

All beauties, there's not s single one I wouldn't mind owning.
I started this year with the goal of not buying any watches and I've made it this far.

Can't help but feel a little bit sorry for the OP.
He can't afford any of the new watches. All he can buy are pre-owned watches. Poor guy...

Thank you Mark. The Carrera is a classic. My first vintage Heuer, but I don't think it will be the last.

Best wishes to you and yours for the festive season.

That collection is simply amazing and probably the best collective I have seen so far. Now where's my lottery ticket. And for god's sake please keep that lot secure, the world is a dangerous place these days. Have a great Xmas. Kev

You should take a proper group shot and make a WIS Christmas card out of it.

    What a load of stunners!
