Looks lovely apart from the date, it looks so recessed it makes it look like a cheap rep.

    Why do AP do this?

There was me thinking that's a really nice watch... I wonder how much they cost?

    Nearly chocked on my espresso!

Honestly... a nice watch and the strap is a good match :-)

Looks nice, is that movement based on a Valjoux 7750?

Fantastic photos! What lens to you use; I'd love to try and achieve something even approaching this quality.

(the watch is quite nice too )

    No it bloody well isn't!

That gold rotor is part of AP's in-house 3120 which is used as a base for the Lemania-designed Depraz-Dubois chronograph module. Just about the nicest integration on the market.

I shared the same question when I first looked at it and my friend told me that the sapphire was polished inside to achieve the magnifying effect therefore, casts an illusion of depth..still searching for some info online...

No offence intended, it was a genuine question based on the subdial layout.

Very nice watch indeed, if I were to own an AP it would be either the scuba or this. (£650 for a strap I believe!!)
I agree with the comments on the date indicator, and for me, the treatment where the opening for the date passes through the textured dial leaving an irregular shaped opening is just ,well, wrong imho.
I see minor details like this, which I don't like on a number of AP that I have yet to see on PP or Vacheron Constantin, or come to think of it, Lange or GO.
I'm sure your friend is chuffed!
