That's a great price price for a cracking watch! Mine gets tons of wear and is incredibly comfortable on the composite bracelet.

    If only I didn't have 2 already.
Whenever these appeared for this sort of price I had to buy them. Not this time.

    8% Topcashback you say?
    Hmmm

Yep, mine arrive this morning too. I wasn't too impressed with the legibility of the screen at first as it is quite sensitive to the angle of light/view but I've gotten used to it. The bracelet and more monochromatic scheme makes it a little bit more sombre than its sibling which I like.

As I already have the one on the right - the negative display will make a nice alternative, and help my not buy any more expensive watches, AT LEAST FOR this year!

Mine has jst arrived too - not great in terms of legibility but very cool nonetheless (and I like the back-light). I may let my 5000 go, in fact, as i really don't need the two...

Have you set the back light up to work on auto yet? Very useful feature once you get the hang of lifting you wrist up in a way that makes it work.

Assuming you'd get around £200 for the 5000, I'd sell the 5610 for the sake of around £130 difference. Silly as it sounds for two watches that look and feel so similar, I do think the 5000 is a nicer watch to look at and wear.

?? Look at how different the times are - both are meant to be auto synching.

Yep fresh out of the box so didn't sync until later at midnight. Wondered how long it would take the eagle-eyed to spot it. (You can see that rcvd is not displayed)

Picked mine up today from the post office. Here it is with my Marlin H101 from 1980.

And if you can't be bothered to read the manual, this video explains the various indicators and functions.

I have an older 5600A with auto EL which I have used a fair bit. In all the years I've had it I have never seen the power indicator on L or M, it's always been on H. But seeing as this model has more gizmos on it I will keep an eye on the power/battery reserve. Thanks for the advice.

I keep thinking about trying a G-Shock and this is a good price. That date format (mm-dd) drives me nuts though. Can it be changed to dd-mm? It's a deal breaker for me - silly I know!

I have succumbed - all your fault. But, for under £80, I had to dip my toe in. I'm impressed it includes free next working day delivery too.

Have been pondering on one of these for a bit, especially on one of these bracelets... so another order here too

So thanks all for the link and the code :-)

I succumbed too............. Had one before and sold it - could not get on with the reverse display but realise now auto illumination is the way to go. Amazing bracelet if I recall.

    Thanks for the heads up.

This is a really great looking G-Shock and I did own one but the legibility is awful on these watches it is worse than I thought it would be and I sold it which is a shame as it is a damn fine looker and if you can cope with it being hard to read then it is one cool cat :)

Thanks! Just bought one. Had one before and sold it due to the hard to read display. Read your thread earlier an red wine and whisky helped me decide. So I not only bought a watch for a second time but also ordered under influence (Glengoyne actually!!) so I assume I get double points here :-) it was poor to read but it had that bracelet and look.

Not so sure about these negative displays ..... I think I prefer the original.

  49. #49
Mine arrived this morning - cool watch
Amazed what a difference the bracelet makes to how a GShock feels on the wrist.
Again thanks for heads up - my new gym watch!
