    My cheapest watch £1

I bought this in the early 1970's from a Flea Market in Sheffield's "Top Rank" for £1
Not working but a Silver Case.
In the 1980's I took it to "Charles Coopers" in Hatton Garden where they made a chain for it, as it is a chain driven movement.
They charged me £30 a bargain for a hand made chain
It keeps lovely time and I love it.
In the 1990's I bought the silver chain and albert from Castleton in Derbyshire.

That is very nice. Do you have any explanation for the numbers on the dial?

I think he's asking about how to read Roman Numerals.

Certainly looks better value than any watch I've paid £1 for.

As far as I have been able to ascertain the numbers were the maker/watch number. Apparently made in huge volumes That's all Not traced a maker though

I do like the Roman Numerals on this dial compared to any wrist watch ;-)

Really nice. You don't see many pocket watches in use.
