I bought this one a couple of weeks ago, new (from a shop) so not just 'new to me' for a change. I've been looking at these for a while as Citizen have a few Limited Edition versions but this one is the latest iteration & I think easier to read than some of the others. It hasn't left the wrist yet so it must be doing something right. Anyway, without any further ado......

Ladies & gentlemen, I give you The Citizen Limited Edition Promaster Bullhead Racing Chronograph

The blurb from the Citizen website....... Inspired by the original Citizen Bullhead from 1973, the watch features a two-tone stainless-steel case secured by a sleek brown leather strap. With a gold-tone dial, the layout design makes use of four black sub-dials accented with red hands to create a dynamic and sporty aesthetic. Additional features of the timepiece include a hand assembled movement, a 1/5 second flyback chronograph that can measure up to 12 hours, an alarm, a power reserve indicator, and date display. Maintaining the robust standards of the Promaster Collection, this watch is water resistant up to 200 metres. Powered by Citizen’s proprietary Eco-Drive technology to provide light-powered vitality continuously and sustainably without ever needing a battery. Presented in a special edition box, this watch is limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide.

Its safe to say I have nothing else like it in my collection & I think it fits in rather well, a bit marmite I know but it would be boring if we all liked the same watches.

I really like that zany thing - definitely the best in the series they've done. I know I'd never dare wear one (paranoid about scratches &c), but delighted there's one out there in the wild on this forum

    Picked this up locally.
I’m quite good condition… and the push day/date change is fun.

I had one of these and stupidly sold it. Finally found another. My favourite modern IWC. 39mm, only 8mm thick, stubby hands, no date and Ceratanium case.

Finally got this one and after fighting with the screws to resize it (and make a right mess of the screws) it’s finally on the wrist. I have never been as impressed with Omega as I am with this. Makes me want to keep moving it in the light to see the play and the size for me is spot on. Hurt a lot to pay rrp for it but it’s just stunning.

My largest watch for by far and also my first AP. Loving the presence it has along with the overall colour aesthetic and case finishing.

I’m on page 666 of this thread (mobile version?) which means all the lovely watches on this thread have the mark of the beast on them. If you wish to send them to me to be exorcised I’ll be happy to help but there’s no guarantee of return because devil possession.

    You're welcome.

I’m a big fan of Seiko’s Cocktail range and couldn’t resist picking this up in the Black Friday sales. This range is all about the dial and I think Seiko do a cracking job of making incredibly pretty watches at a very good price point

My latest incoming shows that you don't have to spend big to get a quality watch.

It's a Revue Thommen Airspeed Classic, a pilots watch that has been very popular with actual pilots over the years,

38mm case, only 11 thick (reference number 6110005). 20mm lugs and 45mm lug to lug. Perfect dimensions I think.

It was also available in 33mm and 36mm case sizes upon release (1997) - this one being considered large at the time!

ETA 2836-2 movement that has been modified with a pointer date hand.
25 jewels, bi-directional ball-bearing mounted rotor, 28,800 vph, Incabloc shock protection, Etachron regulator, 38 hour power reserve. The movement has just been cleaned, oiled and regulated and had a new crown and stem fitted.

The bracelet is nice and very comfortable but I plan to wear it on a sand coloured NATO to complement the patina of the Tritium lume.

For the price of just £250 I am very happy with it! I believe that the RRP was about £750 back in the year 2000.

^ Very nice indeed. Always liked those.

Black leather strap would also look the part.

Don't know what the Hodinkee versions are going for now but in terms of styling these, and the Tribute to Mkxi, are the best looking to my eyes. They should do similar but with the new 120hr pr movement in it!

Probably won't be sticking with me for long, but I couldn't resist getting one of these over from Japan and onto TZ UK — an SCBA003, the rare full lume variant of the all-too-scarce SBCA001. Seemingly the first time of these has been on the forum.

Proper photos of it in the daylight tomorrow. It's not in perfect nick - the date wheel misbehaves a bit when adjusting the date. Not sure how much this cost me in total as import costs are still to pay, but I think just over £200. Rocket Man has first dibs on it! (Secretly, I dream of swapping it for an SCBA001, but don't tell him that)

    That looks great Der Amf!

Which is more legible in the dark, a fully lumed dial or lumerals?

Seiko vs Certina is not exactly a fair fight....

So I put it next to the Orange Monster. Obviously they're both torches. The normal set up is very crisp, but I think the full lume is more instantly legible, as the entirety of the hands are telling the time.

The date wheel having a bit of a wander. Might raise a PayPal dispute over this.

What with Black Friday discounts and timing this Red Arrows saved me £2250 ish !!

It was reduced from £695 to under £500 with 30% discount and if I hadent bought this I would more than likely have bought the Omega X33 on SC for £2750 ish, so a saving of £2250 ( man maths).

The next logical step for man maths would be to say that you now have £2250 to spend on another watch, you were going to only buy 1 watch but now you have 2, so it's like a free watch.

    Man maths par excellence!

After admiring from afar for about a decade, my friend at work bought a 556a RS which finally pushed me over the edge to get a 556i.
Absolutely love it, so simple but just so beautiful and absolutely defines clarity with that dial.

    PAM914

This is my first foray down the Panerai rabbit hole.

It's the wonderful 914, which ticked almost all of the boxes. Polished SS, eight day manual wind, sandwhich dial, 44mm. The one it didn't tick was the open caseback. This particular one comes with a solid caseback, but open casebacks are available for the 914. The P5000 movement isn't exactly exciting to look at anyway, so it's no biggy.

I'm glad the box size has been reduced, and it now doubles up as a travel case.

The new digital passbook is good for traceability.

I opted for three calf skin straps (one free) as opposed to the rubber.

Another gift was a rather large scarf and a bag.

Overall I'm very happy with it and it'll be my daily for a while.

That's a rather nice start and a nice trio of straps to compliment it too. Simple works best for me with Panerai, The 914 isn't a million miles away from my 112.
    Enjoy
