Picked up yesterday. Loving how the blue on bezel changes colour. All most black in the picture.

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

I’ve realised that for some reason I’ve never actually contributed to this thread before...

Anyway, I’m on a bit of a Bulova roll at the moment - last year I bought a Moonwatch, a couple of months ago I bought the ‘Stars & Stripes’ from Peter Skinner of this parish. These are the two models that currently comprise the Archive Series. Now I’ve just picked up this to keep them company...

...and here are the first two...

All fitted with the same 262khz UHF chrono movement, of course.

I’m now seriously considering buying the 3rd Archive Series model (just announced as the Devil Diver) when it’s released next spring at Baselworld 2018.

What an addictive hobby this is .

My first Squale. Very impressed with the quality. A lot of watch for the money.

    Rolex BLNR arrived yesterday

Christmas arrived early for me yesterday.
I have been after one of these for a couple of years and now I'm not totally sure about it.

If the watch is not sat just right the box lid will not fully close. I cannot believe it is actually smaller than the box my 11 year old datejust came in.

The corners of each lug feel quite sharp and the bottom end of the side feels like running your finger across the blade of a knife.

So not totally enamoured but given the time it takes to get one I will give a test run and see if it grows on me.

I wouldn’t worry about this. Been using mine for around 16 months and a GMT LN before that for about the same period of time and neither ever hurt me. Very comfortable.

It is my "least sporty" Rolex and I like the clean lines. I have always liked the Milgauss but this is £1500 less. -2 to +2 certified, 5 year warranty, 10 year service intervals. My son liked it too and it would time well as an 18th or 21st birthday present to him.

Yeah, 38mm as I have skinny girl wrists and the 42mm is just too big

38mm is the perfect size as these wear a bit large. Great watch and choice. I’d love to own one myself one day. Congrats on the pickup.

I have average 7 1/4" wrists and I would only consider the 38mm version. Congrats!!

Beautiful, great choice. Interestingly I noted that the hi beat gmt I have has the same case. The lugs wrap round the wrist really nicely.

This replaces my Speedy Tuesday. After Christmas I will fit a black leather strap.
I prefer the black sub dials because they are a lot easier to read. The TinTin has never been a particularly popular version, but I am hoping that will change. If not, still a nice, cheerful, watch.

Lol no but I did embark on a little journey for a sub (no pun intended) collection. I think I might stop now. Setting myself a goal for 2018. Only one watch purchase so I'll need to choose wisely....

Just collected from Swatch HQ in Southampton. Given a check up and demagnetised, all for no charge. Good stuff. Then we had to go to IKEA as punishment.....

I’ll believe that when I see it! That was my objective this year... one Doxa in and 5 out. One Doxa and two Bulovas later and here we are... I only failed by a multiple of three, I suppose...

I have an empty 12 space watch box if you want to keep that Steinhart collection going. You really need those Paul Newman Chronographs - I contemplated them for a while, but they are big bu**ers

Too large (tall) for me those. Never had any inclination to buy one..., and please don't tempt me with a further watch box. That way lies madness .....

I think that the 'Tintin' Speedmaster is rather well liked judging from the reactions whenever one is discussed. It looks great, is uncommon, and prices have been noticeably creeping up.
