    Halios in pastel blue. Lovely.

    I'm going through a real 80/90s phase.

This is a VC Phidias I picked up last week.

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I love the size (35mm and thin, but i think all gold watches wear bigger)

is quite striking - the bracelet has nice polished central sections and between each link is a polished solid piece. To replace a single link, VC will charge you £890!

It has a tachymeter and date, which puts it in a kinda awkward - I think kinda cool - class of dress sports watch.

It won't be touching any water or any 'sports' but I think it is quite special. They didn't sell many, so there are fewer than 500 around, most are in steel/gold.DSC01274.jpg

it is, obviously, the Omega Speedmaster Mark II. The Rio Olympics edition. Having seen pictures of the Mark II I was always doubtful I could wear a watch of that bulk/size. However, I have found that it is much less intimidating in real life. I was initially drawn to the look of the watch with its gold, silver and bronze chapter rings on the subdials, which really lift the black dial. Although this is one of Omega's Olympic editions I feel this one is really subtle, which appeals to me. I know that PCLs are a bit Marmite, however, as a (16622) Yachtmaster owner, I'm used to them, and indeed positively like them.

The lume is quite cool too, I think:

The watch is, of course, not new, but new to me and is in almost perfect condition, and I managed to pick it up at a what I consider to be a pretty good price given the condition.

Probably the only Omega I have ever truly coveted and I still do. I think I am going to go through a collection restructuring at some point and when I do I would not be surprised to see one of those as an incoming.
Totally agree with you about the subtlety of the Olympic link with this one. The subdials are a brilliant nod to the games without making you look like an Uber fan!
Enjoy that one. It looks in great nick.

Thanks tobywatches, I'm really much more impressed with this watch than I thought I'd be. A big plus is the bracelet clasp has the sliding "comfort" adjustment, which is brilliant, and makes it very comfortable to wear. One thing, which slightly surprised me, is that, although the 3330 movement is, apparently, based on the ubiquitous 7750, the minute totaliser sweeps rather than jumps as the second hand passes 12. Now, I realise this is very academic, as it still spot on, but it did catch me by surprise. I think you will be very pleased if you do eventually get one. As a limited edition of 2016 worldwide, they don't appear for sale, in the UK, too often

    A

Arrived yesterday and a nice addition to the box as I've liked these for a while. Bracelet a bit tight but an extra link on it's way from Cousins should sort that.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

All the talk of high end square G's over the last few days got me hankering for the one I've always lusted over - the Virtual Armour edition. A 36% discount swayed the deal!!

Been looking for one of these for years... got this on Yahoo Japan, new module fitted recently and comes as a full set with a spare bracelet. Currently stuck in customs clearing with Parcel Force!

Sorry if you already know this......... Parcel Force operate in a very old-fashioned way. The parcel will likely clear customs tomorrow (they have never cleared a parcel of mine on a weekend), then it will be sent to the regional depot and be held there pending payment of import VAT/duties etc. They notify the recipient by LETTER of the amount and provide a payment reference number, which sometime takes a few days to be produced/sent and up to a week to arrive.

You can prevent the delays by contacting customer services on 0344 209 6171 once online tracking shows the parcel as cleared from customs and duties raised and they will provide the payment reference to you so you can make the duties payment on-line and avoid the parcel sitting at the depot for a number of days.

Thanks for that - It arrived in customs on Friday so I'll watch the tracking closely tomorrow and get it paid asap. Cheers.

Really wasn't looking for one, but this happened along and I could not refuse.

Chronomat 81950 just back from service and clean.

Finally pulled the trigger on something and for some reason could never stop looking at this one.

Also worth adding that the package from Subdial was a lovely touch.

I was very lucky to pick up this beautiful new 1908 this morning. I love the muted yellow gold and the enamel dial is a wonderful matted white. A keeper for sure.

That's really nice and bright. Love the strap, I have a similar one, only in red, on my Garmin Golf watch - very comfortable.

I was mindlessly scrolling, drooling over the pictures (and the last few watches are ALL stunners!), when I spotted that and thought "Oooh - just my sort of thing that!"...

    Do-oh!

    Anyway: enjoy!

    Cheers chaps!

It feels like a Marathon on the wrist, the milled bezel being very similar. Crisp dial too. In the black strap it looks more sober, but I didn't fancy sobriety today.

Cost a grand total of £49. Bargain I feel!

I've missed having a Panerai in the collection so when the opportunity came up this week I took the plunge on this PAM01109, a reference I've had my eye on for a while.

Lovely. Kinda wish I'd never seen it - for my tastes it's the prefect PAM - definitely wish I'd not checked prices!

I’ve wanted one of these since they first got released, and saw one recently at a good price.
Great watch - wears well, and pretty sure this will be a keeper.

    Wonderful looking watch.
Only better if they brushed the polished bit of links
The bezel gives a great retro feel.

What a stunner! I am biased! Mines at Omega at the moment for a regulation and spruce up. I can't wait to get it back into my rotation.

Enjoy your watch and wear in good health.

I’ve never ‘got’ Panerai. Well, not until now. That is the first one I’ve seen that I’d happily add to my collection, everything is right about it.

    One day maybe….

Congratulations, I've had mine since new in 2018 and it is a keeper. Such a versatile watch with the bracelet, straps or Nato.

New to me today, courtesy of Heuerfan of this parish, to whom thanks.

Thanks mate! I’d always been super keen on these but when I first tried one, wasn’t keen at all. Turns out it was the mk1 colour that I didn’t like - the mk2 is subtly different but much nicer. Loving this so far, looks great under different lights.
