Yeah that's what I thought , I'd guess a watchmaker would charge around £100-130 to assemble ?
I've bought from them twice, all good. I think I was hit with import duty on a strap though. I know that's what happens, but just be aware there's a good chance you'll be paying 20% on top.
If the movement is indeed NOS it will need a full strip down service as the oils will be congealed. Factor that into your build cost.
All the parts look original and it could be a lovely watch. If you know of anyone visiting Melbourne it may be a way of circumventing the import duty/customs charge.
Cheers,
Gary
abouttime-ch is Watchos ebay name I believe. You can't get better than that.
If those parts are NOS but not from 1977, is it *really* a 1977 watch?
Wrong hands for a SHOM?
I've got this on my eBay watch list...... ;)
Factor in all the costs (import tax, rebuild movement etc) and it's not going to be cheap.
As for the birth-year thing, I can`t see how anyone could claim it's from any specific year!
It may be possible to source all the parts from Cousins; not sure whether everything's available, though.

Thanks Paul, could do with your thoughts on this post also, feel free to PM if needed

Not bidding, just watching out of curiosity.
Absolutely.
Don't recall the details but remember Nalu looking into this and finding no support for any ever leaving Omega with Plongeur hands. Many (almost all?) of these are put together pieces made up from spare parts but all verified vintage SHOMs I've seen have not had the Plongeur hands. But hey, it's vintage watches, one should never be 100% sure...
Went for £1,368 in the end, plus shipping, duty and servicing/build cost. Seems like a lot of money for a put together watch to me but then I'm completely out of touch with prices these days.
Though as Hans says Omega (or rather the Swatch Group) won't be supplying parts to anyone outside of their franchise after December 2015. So maybe now's the time to get one or any Omega parts/watches you need/want.
Cheers,
Gary
