Thanks for that, nice quick concise piece of information.
Picked this up on the Rolex forum nice interview with Andrew Shear whom I have had some dealings as other members here have.. He knows his stuff and now I have a new Grail to seek and save for! Damn! I done a quick search and couldn't see it's been posted here already, enjoy everyone.http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/underst...newman-daytona

Excellent, thanks for the heads up
I love the Daytona in its various (vintage) guises (Zenith and earlier)...but I'm not sure I could justify the premium for a PN dial...and probably prefer the 'standard' old 6263/5 / 6239 dials. That's what I tell myself anyway!
Thanks for the link a very enjoyable 5 minutes spent
A proper grail but almost certainly out of my league.
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing the video.
Thanks for the post. Even if I could, I'd struggle to justify the Paul Newman premium.
Great video. Definitely one of my all time favourites. Unfortunately I'm not in the position to drop circa £30-40k on one of these (and even if I was I don't think I would!)
I can't understand why rolex wouldn't do a modern interpretation of one of these. The modern Daytona are just too cluttered for my taste.
That was really interesting - thank you!
