I didn't like my 420 on leather, I've always felt leather on a diver seems wrong, like a dress watch with rubber! I always wore it with a striped NATO which looked really good. Now I'm going to be told a NATO and a Russian watch go together like chalk and cheese.

I have a mesh for my incoming 710, I think it'll look great.

I have always fancied trying a leather, just haven't got round to it, I think it would look great.
    Any photos Mark?
    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I agree. Because of the cost of the watch and the quality of the bracelets, there should have been an option to buy head only, IMHO and choose what to put on them.

    Here is on mesh:

All gone now.... This thread made me very tempted to get one back....

Nice pictures, I think I ended up with your old 420 black scuba dude with the modded hands :)
I would love to try a mesh, but I can imagine them to be a hair puller!

I think the older cushion style cases 090 type can suit leather, especially the old paddle handed watch.Bet the 710 will look great on a mesh, hopefully photo forthcoming ;)

    Thank you!

Nice to hear that you have my old black scuba dude!

Actually the hands were not modded, at least by me. This was purchased new by me from a US Vostok AD and it arrived with these hands, so probably this was a version for the US market.

As you can see, I have a hairy wrist, too, but can't remember having any problem with the mesh during the short amount of time I wore it on that.

The mesh works really well on the 060 case Amphibia.

As for Meranom's special editions, they come out often and sometimes sell out in a matter of hours - it's definitely worth subscribing to his Facebook page to have a chance of nabbing the more popular ones. Just waiting for my Special edition Neptune to arrive ;)

I missed the Neptunes, would love a green one. Let me know when you're flipping that one!

What do we think of a blue bezel on the new version blue dude?

    ^^^^

That looks a very well made piece of kit.

However, I can't get over the fact that these mods double the cost of the watch.

A pimped up Vectra with a body kit is still a crappy Vectra underneath. (I should say I love the Amphibian and have a Scuda dude but it's charm is what it is) IMO

I don't think there's much wrong with the standard bezels at all, I particularly like the dotted one. I know they're chromed brass but that doesn't bother me; as has been stated time and time again, they're cheap as chips and at their price point something has to give, corners need to be cut somewhere.

Anyway, the SE models come with stainless steel bezels if it really matters.

If a mod bezel updated to a ratchet I'd be all for it.

I'm not knocking the Phib, it's one of my favourites.

Really like these bezels and inserts, obviously quality but at £39 expensive.
