    IWC Mk XI rising value

Just seen an IWC Mk XI listed by a well known London dealer for £4595. I recall approx 6 years ago another well known dealer listed them for £2300 and they have since been rising in price steadily. I wish I still had mine - it was 'bought in' for £500 after failing to reach reserve at Sotheby's in 2001.

The Mk XII with the automatic JLC movement was listed new in the mid 90s for £999 - when the adverts were squeezed into The Times newspaper's share listings - sometimes there were several of the small (approx 4cm x 4cm) adverts appearing on one day amongst all the share prices.

Saw 2 mark XI at the watch fair in Birmingham on Sunday one issued one not priced at £4000 for the issued £3400 standard issue. Both where in good condition tbh I thought the standard had a very bright dial and looked like it could of had a relume.

I paid £1350 at auction for a good example in 2000.
