    Another update:
This time pencil sketches, not water colour paintings.
The first four are the kids of one of our forum members -- They will be a Christmas gift.
The last one I did when I was listening to Noel Coward's record. His songs are very funny, and are among my favourites -- particularly when my work gets too serious.

Beautiful, Born ... I had no idea, frankly, that you are doing pencil sketches, too. That will make me think ...

    I'm glad you like them.

The pencil drawings are of my kids.

This may make him a bit red-cheeked but can I just say :

Born has been an absolute pleasure to deal with from the initial idea to the finished pieces.

His commitment to excellence and 'customer' satisfaction has been absolutely staggering and I cannot recommend him enough if you want to commission a picture or two.

Are you struggling to think of a unique, personal gift for someone this Christmas ?

    I was, not anymore.

So . . . 'Thank You' to Born.

    Regards,
    Martin

Beautiful sketches of beautiful children. Interestingly, the youngest one looks very much like my son Tobias when he was 9 months or so.

The pic posted by Ming is a pic of my beautiful daughter

I asked Born to paint me a portrait of my daughter and what you see is a masterpiece by Born.

The accuracy and fine attention to detail is just exemplary of a true genius.

He was true to his word and I will recommend Born to anyone.

Thanks Born and the actual painting came in today.

    Thanks mate!

I think he's spending a sabbatical (or something like that) in Thailand, or tehreabouts. He posted during the Tsunami relief effort, IIRC.

    Another update!

This time it?s John (Abraxas)?s Damasko DC56 with a Eurofighter.
The chrono second hand indicates the Combat Take Off Time: 7 s.

John named the painting "Mission Time".

    I hope you like it.

Very nice, Born. Great detail on the jet and nice colors :thumbright:

I am assembling the elements of my planned commissioned Born T special. When I have an adequate number of photos of the elements, I'll contact you. Should be sometime this summer.

[quote="Flying Doctor"]This is on it's way to me from Born. I comissioned a Sahara / Dirk Pitt painting and I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out.

I think I'll put a copy of all the paintings in the book.

    Another update:

This time it's RLT-17 in a slightly surreal 1919's scene.
The theme is John (Abraxas)'s idea, and the painting is named ' The Time Is Now'
    I hope you enjoy it.

    Most excellent, Born!

I'll be contacting you in August with my idea for a commissioned painting involving a rare Omega diver, a rebreather unit and a picturesque U/W scene, along these lines:

This is an open circuit rig, and I'll get photos taken without my camera in hand. Of course, I'll get a more interesting background also. Interested?

What does it represent? (Yes, I know the watch, I see the zeppelin and I recognize London. But what's the story?)

You've got to ask John (Abraxas).
The theme is kind of surreal, and I think he can explain it better than me.

The RLT17 is my homage to the acceptance of wrist watches.

I am making it all up. Right?

The chap is an ex-military (airship pilot) and now the captain of a civilian excursion craft. He is chatting?up the young mother (war widow), showing-off his new fangled wristlet but appearing to impress more her young son who is making plans to have it, at the first opportunity, if the owner wishes any further association with his mum.

The scene is set at night to give attention to the lume aspects of the timepiece. It?s also unmistakably in England.

I hate the 20th Century (so full of wars and conflicts) so the date is 1919 (even though the watch was made in 1917) and I just love airships, they put you so in tune with the planet. I am not going to say too much as I am preparing a review of the watch with some new pics.

    * * *

I love the massiveness of the craft in this picture:
    http://members.shaw.ca/flyingaces/image ... eville.jpg

And in my travels I came across these two modern beasties:

    The Walrus

    The Skycat

    Hi born!
Great work. I have a couple of projects in mind, and would like to talk to you about it.
We can do it over email, or the forum...it's up to you. However, some of the questions I have (such as pricing) you may want to keep private.
Send me an email eitther way. Thanks

    Hi All,

After having been away for quite awhile enjoying sea, sun, sand in Thailand, now I'm back in the UK.

During the time in Thailand, I was honoured to be asked to paint these two pictures by a former Portuguese Air Force pilot now living in the US.

The first one is named "Fifty Years And Counting" which commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Alpha Jet Squadron "Caracois" (snail) of the Portugese Air Force. The planes are presented here with the legendary Vasco da Gama bridge and a special commemorative version of a Zeno.
The hands of the watch represents the date and time at which the bridge was first officially open.
    .

The second picture is named "Guerra ou Paz...Tanto Nos Faz". It depicts an F16 Falcon from the Falcoes Squadron of the Portugese Air Force along with Fortis Falcoes 2000 and a falcon.

I hope you all enjoy both pictures :)

    Cheers,
    Born

Below is a new painting. It's commissioned by Foggy, so I think I should let him explain it :)

    Thanks for visiting the Gallery.

    Thanks Born

I love it. I commissioned this as a gift for a very dear friend of mine. Andy is a fellow watch collector and also the sort of guy who would do anything for anyone - a true friend. He helped me out when I was looking for my VW Golf a few weeks back, and has been a great mate for the last year since we first met.

Anyway, the story behind the picture. I asked Born to include two objects and the rest was up to him. First, a mil-sub, as Andy has recently become the owner of one. Second, a Sunbeam Tiger, as that is Andy's pride and joy outside of his watches.

Born - you've done a great job and I'm sure Andy will be as thrilled as I am with the painting.

    Thanks again

    Foggy

    Hello Born!

    Nice job!...as always.
Hopefully, all these paintings are not keeping you too busy.
I say this, because if everything goes as planed, I should be buying another Portuguese Air Force commemorative watch (made by ZENO), very soon.

    Take care,
