    Rolex GMT BLNR

Well i finally went and did it. After a couple of weeks looking around and adding my name to waiting lists all over the country i finally went and collected my first Rolex from a local Mappin and Webb.

Have to say i thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and absolutley love the watch!

I thought i may have a little bit of guilt regarding the amount of money it cost but so far each time i think about it i forget it by looking at the watch again :)

Thank you to everyone that contacted me via my WTB with offers of help etc.

Couldnt resist a little iPhone pic :)

    Regards

    Alex

Beautiful watch, I've been in two minds over this and a SubC ND for sooo long, but for me the Sub wins as I'm in casual clothes more often than not.
Still, I love the BLNR and really wish I could pull it off!

    Congratulations and enjoy wearing it.

I ummed and aahed over a BLNR for ages eventually deciding to go for a Sub. Still not sure I made the right decision.

    Congrats.

I'm wearing my GMT now - original. not the fancy do dah you've got ;-)

I've thought often about getting a Submariner but IMHO (and I'll probably get flamed for this) its another diver in a sea of divers (pun intended) whereas the GMT is different whilst retaining the same quality and credibility.

    Enjoy your new found friend.

    My goodness, that is nice.

I am tempted by that watch, would be between that and the 39 mm explorer if I had to choose from current lineup

    Congrats!

No flame from me, you're absolutely right the Sub is a little ubiquitous, however it is for a reason. For me, the swing towards Sub was due to the lack of PCL, the glidelock, and the price.

Great watch and as mentioned above, the best of the current Rolex range IMO

As above, if this had the glidelock clasp I would probably have chosen this over my Subc LV (or more than likely just bought both!).

I do like the BLNR colours. Enjoy !

Very nice. One of the few Rolex that I have liked the look of and liked even more on the wrist. Enjoy it.

Congrats. I'm on the hunt for one of these myself at the moment. Weighing up between new or used.

    I love the dial.

Congratulations. I would love a BLNR, I think these just look better and better the more "lived in" they get. And there aren't many things in life that do that.

  27. #27
Congratulations. I'm always swapping watches etc. but I'll never get rid of my first Rolex - which also was a GMT, just a bit older :-)

Thank you for all the kind comments, i hope to not meet another BLNR in the wild, i think that would take part of the fun out of owning it away for me sad as it sounds, thats the main reason i didnt want to buy a Sub.

I hope to never sell this watch, and add more to the collection over time :)

Thank you for the better pictures as well, love to see a "real" picture of the watch rather than my crap iPhone ones.

hi just saw this post. I saw a BLNR for sale on Turf a few weeks ago and don't think it got sold. You could put a WTB post up there

Lovely watch, I toyed with that one or a non date sub which I went for because of its clean lines and understated style. I do love yours though. Enjoy.

The more I look at this the more I swing back to preferring this over the Sub. How I wish it had glidelock though, then I could even live with the PCLs and Cyclops!

The Glidelock should have been included with this model especially at it's RRP.

It was the glidelock that swung it for me

I kind of agree, but then again it's not strictly a diver, and I suppose Rolex want to differentiate them - but for the consumer it's very frustrating as Easy Link just doesn't compare.

M&P stayed tight regarding this as they had a waiting list in to double figures for one of these. :(

This is quite simply a stunning watch. Congrats.

I STILL look at my GMT IIc - they are just so well made and so smart! You won't ever regret it :-)
