Twelve quid for the canvas
Dear TZ:rs,
I have the intention of taking from this community and so it is only fair to give something back. I have seen a couple of fundraiser auctions here and lacking any originality, I simply stole the marvellous idea.
Rules are simple. Auction starts immediately and it will end on sunday 26:th of October at 20:00 GMT. Open bids to this thread please. After the auction has closed, the high bidder shall donate the amount of the winning bid to the forum fundraiser and provide me with proof of donation and shipping information. I will ship the items by friday the 31:st (or within a week of receiving the mentioned info) using registered mail.
Item 1 – Skagen 585XLTMXM
I have bought this watch approximately 3 years ago from Jomashop and I have worn it three times. The watch is in near mint condition (the marks are dust and fingerprints). The bracelet has been sized, the extra pieces are included. Also included are the box, manual and hangtag, no warranty. The box is a little scuffed as seen on the photos. The watch is running, but I suspect it will need a new battery before long.
Details from Amazon:

Starting price 20 GBP
Item 2 – lot of two 22 mm straps
First strap is a black padded "Breitling style" leather strap with blue stitching. Markings "Echt leder 22". Stainless steel buckle. This has been worn for maybe a day, two at the most.
Second strap is a hypoallergenic "racing style" perforated strap with blue stitching. Markings "Lorica waterproof". Has been tried on a watch, but hasn't been used.
Starting price 5 GBP
Item 3 – lot of four 22 mm canvas straps
These are Eddie's 100% cotton straps. I got these maybe two years ago. At the time these were the only available 22 mm canvas straps that were 100% natural fabric. The olive drab has seen some use, maybe a weeks worth. The khaki has been worn for maybe a day or two. The blue and burgundy are completely unused.
Starting price 5 GBP
Good luck with the auction!
Thanks to Eddie for this wonderful forum and for allowing me to have this auction!
Cheers,
Antti

Twelve quid for the canvas
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
No love for Skagen and low-end straps?
I will give a personal guarantee for the watch for one year excluding the battery, damage caused by water (WR only 30m) and normal wear and tear.
Nice idea!
Good luck
Thanks, although the idea wasn't mine, as stated.
A gentle bump with a price drop seems to be in order.
I'll bid £20 on item 1.
I love those canvas straps - not sure how many 22mm watches I have though.
Even so, £20 on them!
Super gesture, very generous.
In fact, £40 on the Skagen as well. (now someone outbid me please)
A very generous offer for the straps, as you can get them new from Eddie at £5 a pop. Although the olive drab seems to be out of stock, so this actually might be a rarity... Thanks. Let's hope someone absolves you from your dire straits with the Skagen.
Friday night, a few at the pub, aren't these items starting to look better and better?
Stretching my luck with Eddie's patience with yet another bump. Ladies and gentlemen, it's the last day. Item number two is still up for grabs with the meager sum of five pounds sterling. The other items are also there for the taking, but command a slightly higher price. This is the time to get something for yourself and participate in a good cause at he same time. Please don't be shy.
I'll have a fiver on item 2, superb gesture by the way.
Go on then, let's have a tenner on the leather straps.
Well done mate.
Not a problem - bid stands.
As long as you can confirm that Loricas are not endangered and that the skin was ethically harvested.
Cheers.
Nah, those little critters are everywhere. When I originally bought the strap, I was told that every Lorica they use has lived a long and fulfilling life and has personally donated their skin to the watch strap industry on their deathbed, surrounded by all their friends and family, mind you.
I'd be more worried about the Genuines. So many leather products are made of Genuine leather, that those poor creatures must be close to extinction. I have never seen a Genuine in the wild, so that must say something. Im glad the leather strap on offer here is made of Echt leather.
All right, the auction is officially closed. The lucky winners are:
kevkojak, items 1 and 3 for a grand total of 60 GBP
Beaunidle, item 2 for a grand total of 10 GBP
Please PM me with the relevant info at your convenience.
Thank you to everybody else for participating and better luck next time!
Cheers,
Antti
