Good Idea Brian, usual venue works for me. I will try to make this one having missed the last one!
Bazz.
How about another get together before the winter weather closes in on us? We could meet at the usual venue on the A38 (PM me if you do not now it) or I can find an alternative to the north or south if preferred.

Just Bazz and Tim so far; perhaps I should suggest a date and see if that moves things forward. How about Thursday 30th October or feel free to suggest alternatives.
Thursday 30th should be O.K. for me.
Bazz.
I'd be up for that, but can only do Mondays or Tuesdays, so the Thursday is out for me.
Mark
Sadly I no longer live in the Bristol area, shame its been quite a while since the last GTG I went too!
One day this month my daughter moves into her flat....don't know when, but I am down for wall papering duties. Apart from that I am pretty much available! Tim
Little bump for this.
I can't make it for Thursday, but I'm sure you'll all have fun!
Mark
Very unlikely to make any weekday but Fridays now
It has been a while hasn't it!
Not much take up yet so I'll give it a bump and see if we get any more.
Yes please. Weds nights are a no go for me.
Seems that there are only about 4 of us available with 1 in Bristol and the others around Cheltenham/Glos so I think we'll have to wait a while and try later.
Brian,
Pity about the low numbers, I know it's sometimes difficult for people with family or work commitments to attend.
In an attempt to assist the decision making, I will still turn up if you want to run it with four people, or will be happy to postpone
if you prefer.
Thanks for your efforts to get this off the ground, will see you again at some point no doubt.
Bazz.
If the dates work, I will gladly come along, even with just a handful of people there.
As a regular attender to these I would certainly be interested in coming, and the 30th should be possible if we go ahead with that date.
Dave
and yes, it has been too long since the last one
Might be able to make it if I can get home in time. Been too long since the last GTG.
Cheers,
Gary
Newbie, but may I come?
I'm still in if you think it worthwhile. Never been to one, so keen to meet some like-minded locals. Regards Tim
Well we seems to have 6 or 7 probables and the pub can let us have our usual corner so lets make a go of it and see if we can roust out one or two more lurkers. If anyone doesn't know the venue drop me a PM for details. Thursday 30/10/14 t whatever time you can make it ; the food and cider are pretty good (I can't speak for he beer as I don't drink it)and hopefully we'll have god company.
Evening chaps!
Not been to one of these before, so please excuse my ignorance. I am assuming that people turn up with a bunch of their watches and we all sit around cooing over stuff we like the look of and keep quiet about the ones we don't like so much?
If that's the case, does anyone have particular brands they want to see in the metal? Personally I am quite keen on Zenith and IWC at the moment....
Looking forward to it, and if anyone is between Cheltenham and the pub then I'd be happy to provide a lift. Regards Tim
Hi Tim,
You've pretty much described the format for the event, however most of our local regulars can soak up criticism without resulting to violence!
Bring whatever you have, there is usually quite a wide range of interest within the group.
If we get tired of talking watches, we have been known to discuss other stuff from time to time.
Bazz.
Come one, come all to the greatest watch extravaganza ever (well since the last one anyway).
Thursday evening between Bristol and Gloucester.
Lest you forget.
This is tonight gents, just to remind you all.
See you there, I will try to be there just before 7
Dave
I may be struggling tonight, am absolutely swamped at the moment with not enough hours in the day. I'll see what I can do.
See you later.
Aiming for around 19:00.
Bazz.
Just got back from Henley so I'll set off in around half an hour. Anyone else eating at the pub tonight?
Cheers,
Gary
Just too far for me to come tonight.. hope it's a good one!
Any pics (of watches, obviously. Not you ugly lot 😁)?
Mark
Hello all,
Firstly, sorry Mark no pictures. I took my camera and tried a couple of available light shots, (what available light?!), without sucess. I don't have the skill or the camera for
those conditions I'm afraid.
It was a good evening despite there being only five of us. Nice to see Tim for the first time, with an interesting bag of goodies.
Dave (alias "Sweets") brought along his Pelagos, which I have to say is superb in the flesh and probably one of the nicest looking dive watches around just now. He also sold me a rubber strap. The strap is good and the vanilla smell is wonderful!
Thanks to Brian for getting this meeting up & running, looking forward to the next one.
Bazz.
No piccies from me either.
Good to see some old faces (should that be familiar faces?) and meet Tim, whose Chopard and Zenith Elite were fascinating for being lovely, despite the fact that I would have supposed they wouldn't be so attractive.
Bazz's collection, whilst not changing, is also a lovely thing to peruse, with some magnificent and iconic divers (and one really ugly one!!).
I didn't get much of a chance to re-familiarise myself with Brian's exemplary collection of alarm watches, we were clearly chatting too much.
And Gary's collection is very familiar to me, as we have met many times, and the group contains 2 of my old watches.
Lots of natter, some good laughs and overall a nice relaxed occasion.
But no photos, so clearly, it never happened.......
Dave
Maybe we can sort another closer to Christmas (after the 19th Dec )
Just a quick comment from a newbie, I would encourage anyone wavering about attending these GTGs to go along. I got to meet a new circle of people, hugely knowledgeable about a hobby I love and non-judgemental to boot! I came along with my plastic bag of watches and had a really enjoyable evening. Highlights....well there were several, but Omegary's immaculate Speedsonic and pristine Seamaster 120(?)....wow! I have mentioned elsewhere the lovely Zenith de Luca owned currently by Sweets....but he had a box full of treasures that you just wont see in a month of Sundays. Thanks to Bazz and Barry for being so welcoming. Thanks guys, I will be better prepared next time!
