    I've wanted one for ages.

This could be mine in a few days, but i have to drive to Germany to collect it.

I've wanted one for a while but there was always another watch that pipped it, finally I realised why I want one, probably because I don't give a monkeys what anyone thinks, is that a good enough reason.

I'd say that's exactly the reason to buy any watch - but then I always get rinsed every time I flip. I'm not a big fan of many yellow gold watches, but as they go that is a nice one.
Good luck with your drive :-)

There is something decadently luscious about a gold Sub.

    Go and get it! :-)

    I've wanted one for ages.

It's much nicer in blue than black but I'd probably want white gold.

It's not me buying it though so I hope your journey's a fruitful one.

And more pictures when it arrives please.

Just take it easy, both ways. If you're going through France, check the 'Must have day-glo waistcoat & underpants and no speed camera detector' laws.

Enjoy the anticipation, the acquisition and the possession.

    I envy you.

    Go get it!!

Never been a huge fan of yellow gold but if your going to have yellow gold then this has to be on your list!!! If I was in your shoes I would go for it and then show us all the pics of you diving with it on😄😉

This looks great! Personally I prefer the two tone, than the all gold version, but this is more impressive, IMHO. The two tone is the one I want for ages and will probably get it some time in the future. Wear it in good health!

    Wow, good for you.

Look forward to pics, and perhaps a revival of the 'gold watches opinions' thread...

Pretty much everything about it tells me that it's wrong, but, I think it totally awesome!

    Get it!

Just a thought: the vintage ones look really good in gold and can be dressed down by wearing them on a distressed leather strap or even a nato. I have had both a sub and a gmt. Fair bit cheaper, too...

I think wanting it in the way that the OP does is absolutely good reason enough. This particular watch is not my taste at all - I have a strange visceral prejudice against gold or bi-metal Rollies - but I can relate to wanting a watch and not giving a stuff what anyone else thinks of it. In that sense, I hope it brings many years of satisfaction.

What's all this 'yeah, I don't care what people think, I'm a maverick' stuff?

It's a just a watch. It looks nice, feels nice and is well made. Wearing one doesn't make you some kind of anti-hero.
