    Watch insurance for UK expat

I'm sure many of you have specialist insurance for your collections so I was wondering if anyone knows of an insurer who would insure my modest watch collection. The catch is I live and work in Indonesia so would need a company willing to cover UK expats like myself. I was using JBI Insurance brokers who seem to have now merged with or been taken over by TowerGate. Sadly they're now pretty slow to reply to emails and the premiums gone up so I'm looking into other options.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

    Matt

Marsh Private Clients specialise in this sort of thing, you could contact them for a Worldwide All Risks quote. I have always found them quick to respond.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Coincidentally, Marsh is a massive company and actually insure our aircraft here in Indonesia! I'm now in touch with their office in Jakarta to see about getting a quote.

Still waiting to hear if TH March are able to cover me.

Out of interest, what sort of premium are people paying? My last quote to cover about £10,000 of items for all risk was nearly £400. Just wanted to see if that's in the ball park or not as I've still waiting for an updated quote now I've added a Rolex to it..

Seems a tad high to me. I pay £450 for £45,000 worth of household cover but no named single items (for this reason I have to keep individual watch values to less than £2.5K which is probably no bad thing in my case). It is arranged through my employer who sends hundreds of policies towards Marsh, so there is probably a bulk discount arrangement in there.

I have had to make the odd claim (my dive gear was pinched in Bali once, never going there again - much prefer Lombok/Gili anyway!) It was never a difficult process.
