I would send a pm to Duncan aka Cannop. He serviced a couple of my watches including one with quartz movement and I just can't recommend him enough. Besides he seems to be a very nice person.
I recently bought a used CWC SBS quartz which it turns out has an unusual issue - it stops every day around 11 minutes to midnight! I'm guessing it must be something to do with the day/date changeover mechanism locking the watch up instead of flipping over. Giving it a good shake, or winding the hands on, starts it up again and the battery low indicator isn't showing (>1 second jumps on this watch I think).
It's out of warranty, so where's a good place to have it looked at? Do you think it's a new movement job?
Cheers for any advice...

Cheers, I may well do that. I managed to find a local watchmaker too so I'm waiting on them to get back to my email...
I had a similar problem with mine and just bought a new movement ................

I tried to change it myself and ballsed it up so always worth giving it to someone who knows what they are doing

Ralph Waldo Emerson: We ask for long life, but 'tis deep life, or noble moments that signify. Let the measure of time be spiritual, not mechanical.
Thanks guys. I contacted the guy I bought it from and it seems it had been sat unused for a few years with a dead battery so it may have just seized up a bit. I've spun the date through a few cycles as it seemed to be that which was sticking and on a test earlier it seemed OK. I've got it set at the correct time now so I'll see how it is in the morning...
Well that didn't work, same problem. A few more cycles this morning and it still stops just before midnight.
Time for a trip to a watchmaker I think, hopefully the local guy will get back to me otherwise I'll look into the suggestions in this thread. Cheers all.
