The thought's there, but it doesn't take into account such things as face size, bezel size, lug length and case height - just some of the factors that can affect how a watch wears. Add to that considerations like wrist flatness, shape, any bony protrusions and, of course, how delusional the wearer might be, and guides of this nature start to lose their usefulness.
