Gator strap looks great, transforms the watch IMO.
I have had my TT Daytona for many years. During those years it has had a good bit of wrist time. In the last few years though it has hardly been worn.
I have begun to realise that this is mostly because I actually don't like watches on bracelets. Not sure exactly why that is, and there seem to be exceptions, but the Daytona, it seems, wasnt one of them. recently i put the watch on a White Rubber B which gave it a short reprieve as I quite like the fairly dynamic look it produced. That was however fairly short lived as i decided I wasn't too keen on ribber either.
The problem with putting it on a strap, in my mind, was that it just didn't work. The proper strap model looks so great and it was never going to match up with that. End links have for sometime been available from specialist suppliers, but until a recent thread regarding a guy in Singapore who had started making them, I wasn't aware that they were available in bi-metal. As soon as I heard I ordered a pair and a lovely black Alligator strap from Rios.
here are a few photos of the watch. First in it's original form on the bracelet and then on the White Rubber B . Finally looking, to me, the best it has ever looked on Black gator , with the end links

Gator and end links
Gator strap looks great, transforms the watch IMO.
What clasp do you use with the Gator strap
Cool!
I must look into this with my SS white Daytona, though I would prob try and source a second clasp for quick swapping back to bracelet. Also what colour Gator brown or black? Hmm you have inspired me to investigate lol
The gator looks best, especially using the clasp, but the overall look of the yellow gold leaves me cold.
I must be old. I like gold, Yellow, Red , White , all of it
The OE end links look less brushed than the 3rd party ones, or is that just the difference in lighting in the photos?
Would it not have been possible to just fill in the EL space with a custom designed leather strap, like the rubber B has?
Looks fantastic Tim on the gator, George made a set for my DJ when I had it! May have to get a set for the GW as I like to mix it up with options.. I know diver on leather, but we are all different!
Wowsers... I think that could possibly bring a Daytona back into the watch box. Haven't missed my old SS one but was eyeing up full gold recently, this looks a great alternative.
I may not go for an MOP dial though ;)
It's funny - I would never have thought that the white RubberB would work until you posted the holiday picture of it and I quite liked it (that's not to say that while it looks OK on you, Tim, I don't think I could have carried it off). Did you try the alligator without the endpieces? I can't help thinking that might look better - from my eyes at least? I've thought about getting some endpieces as well but for straps I'm quite happy to see the ends - yet I can't bear to see a bracelet without them (Tudor Ranger being the obvious example).
+1 for the gator. Very nice look
The gator looks great. +1 from me. I also like the sporty look on the white rubber.
Oh….If only…..
The Daytona had a date function…Oh…if only…
Looks brill on the Gator.
Fantastic look. I've got those same end links as well. :)
