I'm having an operation in mid October and need a room for a couple of nights. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonable hotel or B&B nearby? I'd like to pay around £150 per night if that's possible so Claridges is out of the running!

Melia White House is good but might be out of budget, take a look at laterooms.com and put in the post code or Great Portland Street tube station.
Often gets mentioned, airbnb. Never personally used the site other than to make general enquiries when looking for a few nights in London but always gets great feedback.
If you zoom in around Harley Street on this link and play with the price range, you'll find some options just nearby.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'll be in the area in early October, so I can do a reccy then, but I'm particularly interested in personal recommendations if anyone has one.
