Fantastic watches.
Having been introduced to Panerai way back in 2003 by a mate who said he thought they might be re-emerging I always loved the strong DNA and military association and despite having had many other brands in a plethora of styles I always find myself coming back to the Pam, been a great journey so far and long may it continue. No doubt once the boutique opens in London this year the UK awareness will increase (probably with the price) but I think Panerai are now settling down and learning hard and fast from any previous mistakes to deliver some absolute belters to compliment any watch collection.
Haters and slaters need not apply, lovers and droolers enjoy but a small selection of past and present

Fantastic watches.
I agree - a fantastic cross section there of Pam family - you clearly have an ongoing love affair with them. Continue to enjoy!
Without any intent to hijack the thread, given your knowledge could you recommend a good Panerai for my 25 yo son to start with. Chrono not a requirement.
He likes the look as many do, but has no appreciation of the in-house versus sourced movement choice, etc - frankly probably wouldn't care (but he may come around ...). He has saved about 2000 in GPB's and has a brother in the UK who can get it to him, so can I asked your advice please?
Thanks
Richard
P.S. The old man may need to assist here, but that was always part of the plan I think :-)

Great pictures, which are currently in your collection? Would be good to hear why you moved some on/kept some?
Wow nice watches and great pictures. Wish I had gotten into Panerai years ago.
A superb selection Kerry, your taste is pretty much identical to mine on Pams, I love every one of those posted.
Great journey Kerry. Got into them at a similar time but took my till June 2004 to save up for my first.
Panerai got me interested in watches.
Spent far too long drooling over the AD in Milan this summer - PAMs on a bracelet are surprisingly effective.
Fantastic collection. Thanks for sharing.
Panerai have grown on me over the years. Might well be the next purchase for me.
What a fantastic collection.
I would love to acquire a couple of pieces in the future!
Simple answer on kept and moved is cash! Do not have a never ending supply so one in one out etc
With regard to keeping the 305 & 372 are a solid base for me and will eternally be all time favourites as I cant be without a 1950's case and have a real fondness for Ti.
Future will see a Chrono in there and certainly a ceramic and any of the 1940s' cases. SO much choice is the beauty

Really nice collection Kerry... You have great taste...
I have my PAM 48 (6 3/4" wrists) and have just invested in a rather amazing panerai braclelt for it (separate thread on that later!!!)
For my tastes the design is really clean and elegant, whilst giving plenty of oomph to your wrist...
Some nice variation there... Enjoy :)
Nice that they cater for all sizes but anyone can wear any size if 'they' like it, the 48 is one of those that has the ingredients required for my approval (for what its worth) the dial needs balance, if it has a 12 it needs a 6 if it has a seconds hand then the date balances the 3 o clock.

Very nice. Panerai aren't for me, but I can definitely appreciate them from a distance- the 8 day gmt is probably my favourite of the bunch
Trying to think of the Panerai I owned (in order) from yr 2003 to around 2008. Not an easy task :-/ as I had multiples of some of these :-/

Still appreciate the style, but fallen out of love with the brand and pricing.
An impressive lot Kerry. I found out fairly quickly that simpler is better with Panerai and that I don't really get on with the 1950 case.
I've been settled on the 111 and 183 for a good while now....simplicity and I find the pre inhouse era watches nicer. But I've always had a soft spot for the 305, best inhouse piece from Panerai IMO. the only thing I may chase is the 190, possibly my favorite Rad.
What chrono would you be looking for?
+1 on the 190...... Their finest hour IMPO.
Perfect design with JLC engine.
Agree more Rads now, but damn the prices of some are crazy! That 8 day Ti one for example is great, but not well priced. And as Murph says, the jlc engine is iconic. Shame there were only a few lines that used jlc movements.
Good chrono choice, I got offered one a few yrs back at a pretty reasonable price and probably should have bought it. Oh well!
Right come on boys lets have a few pics of your lovelies

Only had two, a white dial 40mm (hate quoting model numbers) and this ...
Titanium, hobnail dial, great on leather or rubber.

Fantastic line up of watches Kerry. I particularly like the 233 and the subs.
I wasn't going to make a contribution to this as past similar threads have descended into what i regard as a pi$$ing contest, so i hope my contribution isn't seen as such.
I don't know whether i feel sad, embarrassed or both to have owned what i have and courtesy of Photobucket storage, this is an incomplete pictorial too! Its not fully chronological either as for some reason pictures are not loaded in 'newest first' format despite what bloody PB states every time i load a new piccy. It tedious trying to search them out too.
I recall my first Panerai was a brand new 104.
Shortly after a 25 came along.
Followed by a 212 and another new one, a 240 (Group pic)
That reminds me, i still had that damned Daytona at this time.
Onwards to add a 24b series beater
Somewhere along the way i acquired my first 233
Then another for some custom DLC work
A 243 came and went
As did my second, or third, or even fourth 000
One of my all time favourites PAM89 GMT
This 001 was very nice
The SE re-edition PAM 29 was a nice thing to own
A new 210 passed through
A 232 and a 292 stayed for a while
The Ti/brown/gold combo bit me quite hard so a 351 was acquired
A 190 was offered and had to be purchased
Another 232 arrived
Even a 382 Bronzo resided with me for a while
Of course i had to have a 372 (well two actually )
I loved this 371, i was an idiot to have sold it
I bought a destro 368 but didn't keep it very long
The 194 was nice but no substitute
The 389 was a big want for a while but ultimately it didn't stay very long
My fourth (by now) 305 which i still have
An exquisite 339 joined some others
As did a stealthy 508
That is my little Panerai journey to date, there were others that i can recall but pictures were lost.
In summary i think its all proved rather silly tbh and on reflection pretty indulgent too, though has not hurt or compromised anyone/anything. It has for the most part also been an enjoyable trip, though sadly i'm pretty jaundiced with it all now.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to put that together Baz, not one munter in that lot and indeed all would be welcome at my wrist anytime. Love or hate they do have quite a draw, I dont think you will find a brand with so much sense of community about it and whilst not elitist theres a certain 'geek chic' to it

Crikey... That's a serious collection!!!
A barman clocked this on my wrist last night. He waxed lyrical for ages. Very unexpected but rather complimentary all the same.

Not heard about the boutique opening in London - do you have more details?
Thanks
I wouldn't be in a rush to embrace a UK Boutique myself. You'll pay full monty money for everything, whereas some provincial dealers will haggle and offer inducements. That's obviously not an option in the great metropolis though, and boutiques may be good for window shopping, depending on their stock levels, but not much else imo.
The 372 is stunning, thanks guys for posting your individual Panerai History.
Can I ask when did the trademarking marks on the guard get introduced?
A recent convert to Panerai, with my 118. Currently waiting on a new strap coming (I was warned), an Heroic18, vintage tan Poseidon with a Ti buckle, got it with the buckle as they are 24/24
Cheers
Kevin

So it started with this but ultimately I found the 1950s case a little too chunky. Now I have, and holding on to this...

Will I buy others? Possibly...
(Excuse the poor photos!)
My path started in 2004 with the 177. (Sadly gone now)
Then quickly progressed to a 183 as well, also gone!
Next up was an E series, 2002 112 (gone)
I then picked up my first 232! (gone)
A pair of 000's next one still with me!
411 SE from Florence Still got, my Dad wears it and loves it.
Another chunk of Titanium next in the form of a 176 (gone)
Followed by a a 380 (gone)
Then came a couple of 372's (both gone)
One 372 went to enable me to get a 26 (now gone)
Along came a 390 (Gone)
And then another 232 (Still have)
My next was my grail and the reason I sold my 372 as I would only ever choose one 47mm Luminor so enter the 127!
A 112 for a while (gone)
A curvimeter
Then a 219
Thinks thats al, I may have miss one but you get the idea.

Here's mine!!
I know... just a drawing... but I am a huge admirer of the Submersible (I know... not this watch) by them!!!
To be fair Kerry.. you have kept wonderfully loyal to the brand... and they do make some nice pieces.
If I had a slush fund... the Submersible would definitely be high up on my list.
Enjoy the brand!
Pity. Was hoping for a few Slytechs and a host of pre vendome stuff ;)
Some stunning watches there guys, thanks for sharing.
Panerai was also the brand that got me more 'into' watches.
My first was a 177 - and is still with me. And then last Oct I got a 1940s case 514.
My wife has a 48 and a 512.
This thread isn't doing my lust for a Panerai any good :( some lovely models shown.
Will have a base Pam one day, just keep switching between 000, 112, & now the 390 love the gold hands.
To be honest any base will do
Some good looking watches here, I'm mostly over the Panerai phase, but I do fancy one of the 1940's watches at some point.
024C, my first Pam
Very much regretted selling this 176
372, just too big!
380, Radiomirs are not for me
312, the one!
000 Base, bit flimsy
An 000 was flimsy?
Given that basic watch in numerous guises has been around for many years, i'm surprised to hear it described such, but we all have different views i suppose.
If i may comment further? your 24c has a hashed bezel not the fully polished non hashed type normally found on the 24 (&25) a/b/c series, was that replaced/upgraded along the way? Just curious
3 basis that I dailly can't decide between to be my 1st. Used to want the logo as most people agree Pan DNA, but the 112 & it's sandwich dial has real depth & a simpler dial, yet the 390 with gold hands, just looks amazing when the light hits it.
Another member mentioned the 390 dial is dull, what's your hands on opinion on those 3 models. (Unfortunately the 390 is the LE = expesive model)
Thanks Brad
